Flexi Cars without front wheels.
Are you cars as good as these?

Before this turns into another "My toy race cars are better than your toy race cars" thread, please read post #12.

That's quoting you.
Do your cars work as well or better than these?

OK,that didn't work.
Simple answer....No.

Steve. You showed me a setup using a 3/32 axle. For durability purposes, that makes sense. The weight difference will most likely impact handling to a degree. Flexi rules may not allow such a variance, but couldn't hurt. This is a good discussion. Far as Retro, there's no doubt that 100% full time front rotation is a must.

Pablo and Steve,
I am not pushing a personal agenda.
I was just simply stating that on our flat track here in Wellington, New Zealand, flexi chassis without front wheels are faster than the same chassis with front wheels.
That was all.
Maybe it has something to do with the centre of gravity and/or friction

One thing that is a problem with the 1/16th wheels is truing and shaping them. What I do is use the felt wheel on my 3 inch mini-grinder to spin a front wheel on the axle, then use a sanding stick to true and shape it. Not as good as the Hudy but better than nothing. For O-rings I like to increase the size of the contact patch by sanding a flat band around the circumference. You have to make sure it's well oiled when you do this or you will put a lot of wear inside the aluminum hub.

Rules would generally forbid any cutting on a chassis other than debur rough edges, so larger than a 1/16 would be prohibited. Last C-11 I set up for another racer, I went with 1/2 in fronts. Smaller target to get jacked up and easier to bend out of the way between heats. If you can come up with a durable solution, more power to ya !!

The 1/16 axles bent easily on the Turboflex and early Flexi cars. On the C11, C21 and new Mosetti, the axle supports are much further out, and I haven't had much of a problem with axles bending on those.
I do like running the 3/32 axle because it gives you so many more and better front wheel options. You do pay for it in weight though - a gram or so for the axle and another couple of grams for the wheels.

My comment that slot cars are tripods, was merely a statement of fact.

Please show the three points of contact.
I count five if you include the guide.
But that is NOT what this thread is about.

I'd like to try a 3/32 axle on our TB flex coupes sometime. We're due for a coupe race, but I gotta get a new H7 for mine.
