Vending and amusement is a place to pick up cash if you have some unused space in your shop.

Soda Pop/tea/juice vending machines (inside or outside. Or both.)

Candy machine

Arcade type games. Pinball, air-hockey, Skee-ball.

These things bring in extra floor traffic.

Young kids at parties will normally put quarters in any machine. They like vending machines and games. Even a ride type machine is cool.

Pool tables, foose ball, chips and drinks. Don't leave this money on the table. Unless you hate extra dollars per month in sales.

I agree but I think we are in the minority. I would love a vending machine that I could purchase a burrito and pop it into the Microwave while taking a break from the track. I would spend all day there easily. Or at least until my wife calls and tells me to come home LOL

Most owners would probably say it detracts from their "serious" racing program which may be true.

Some really great food vending machines have come on the market in the last several years, if your track doesn't have a food joint in the same center they can really fill the gap and keep people in the building.

BUT... I'll save you some time/money... those automated pizza making machines suck!

Poptarts taste more like pizza than what comes out of those things.

I think it's best if a slot track can go after two different markets.  ONE--the hard core racing market. IF, you can develop enough racers too pay your rent--that's great!  You need to STOCK the parts for your programs the racers need most--try not to bring in dead stock --  but be sure to stock what the racers need!! My local track is not so good at that.  Then,  prepare the tracks for racing!! If the tracks are prepped properly and READY TO RACE on come race day, you'll be ahead of the game.  The racers should not have to do this.  Find out what works, and stick with it!!

TWO--the "Casual and Birthday crowd"!  This group will probably provide your profit margin over and above the race crowd.  And this is where your foosball and arcade games will really help.  The vending machines will hit both crowds, but kids will want to do both, race and play on any vending machine! This group takes advertising for!! And if you're lucky, you'll bring some new racers in through them.
