OK- please help an old geezer with a failing memory. LOL

Back when dinosaur poop was still warm- I remember a machined brass adapter that you could attach controller alligator clips to that had a 4mm banana plug on the business end.

It avoided having to have a controller just for tracks with 4mm banana plugs.

Does anyone have any information if it is still available and where to get them?

Thank You!!!!

Good news Zip.  MG found an adapter so you could connect your controller directly to the new track.

Mick, I just built a convertor for a controller I am repairing for a racer from Argentina . All I did was drill three holes in a strip of plastic and mounted the lug  adaptors .Soldered wire to the end and put alligator clips on the end. Works ok. Would you a photo of it? I can givee you the part number if you would like.

Mick, I am making one for me and I can make a batch.  Radio Shack small project box with studs and plug lead wires for use on this sole (?) American banana plug track.  Have to make one to figure costs.

MG, could you not just buy the male plug, take the back cover off, and just clip onto the bare connector where the wire goes?

Like this one?

I'm assuming that you push the male plug into the track socket hole, then clip onto the bit sticking out?

Edit:

Or, if you particularly want to clip onto a threaded post, clamp the largest screw that will fit, into where the wire would normally go.

Just a thought.

Roger had a bunch at the first race to loan.  They work OK, but he chose NOT to leave them in their respective sockets, so we had to move them with our controller.  They did slip out of the 'gators due to less grip.  A threaded stud will grip better and quicker.  Sequence: RED/BLACK/WHITE towards the track.

He could just plug them in and leave them there until someone does not need them.

How many amps CAN those  plugs handle?  They should be the choke of the whole track if they are not rated for more than 10 amps....this was just one of the issues with the old 1/4" phone jacks and microphone jacks that were tried in past years.
