Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Check that best lap. I am sure I saw some 4.9s on the board.

Great run, Matt. And everyone.

Guys, I have received info that says you are correct about Matt's best lap.

Here's what I was working from:

counter.jpg

But since I know this info is in error, I'm going to delete the fast lap data from the A Main and othr results where this screen was the source for the data. Perhaps the fast lap indicated is for the last lane... I dunno.

Yes, it is. Matt had fast race lap of 4.974 on the green lane.

As a side note, Jimmy got third with his ancient Katz tripod built way back for RetroPalooza 3!!!

Unfortunately, that "track record" column does to allow me to show each racer's fast lap in the race.

Yes, Noose. Jimmy did an amazing job in the A. All the racers in the A as well as all the Mains deserve a big "Hell Yeah." Good job to you all. Big shout-out to Mike Iles and the crew at SpeedZone for putting this event on every year.

Got to make one of these.

Had a fantastic time at the Brawl. Competition was amazing, with the fastest of the fast there to tackle the Engleman 220, and the track was perfect all week. Very special.

Thank you Mike Iles for holding this event and making it the must be at race of the year.It was great to get to hang out with the California guys again. Jason and Duran brought Alex this time and it a good time.

Mic Byrd did a great job of prepping the tracks and keeping the place in order. I can t say how much fun it is to race on the SpeedZone Engleman, it's just in a class by itself. Thanks to Greg Van Peenan for the incredible record setting car with records in Chicago and now SpeedZone.

In the Coupe race I had a hilarious qualifying attempt that left the place roaring. After tech i pinned the body back on using the wrong hole. the car did crazy things and would not make a lap. I was dead last and started from the C main in the pro coupe shootout.I took a 4th overall from the track call filled C main .

In the F1 I struggled to come up with a fast combination and was surprised to qualify third with a great 4.04. The motor in the car was a little tired and was not what the car needed in the race.

In the Can-Am race it was incredible to qualify with a 4.89, being the first and only one to run in the 4.8's. My track record of 5.03 from five years ago was finally broken by many, but I took it back now for awhile. I had a disaster on the first lap of the A Main when I drag-raced Willy and Matt into the lower straight bank turnaround. Three of us went in locked together and only two came out. My car was bent and the motor was damaged and slow. In retrospect of course it was my fault for being in the wrong place so that is what happened to my race. The car was fantastic and i had a good shot at the race but it was over in a big bang.

Congratulations to Matt Bruce for another great Can-Am win and overall Brawl Champion, and Willy Custer for an amazing run in F1 and a great secnd in the Brawl Can-Am. If you want to win one of these races you have to get by these two guys, Duran took down everyone in Can Am Plus and Retro Pro in two great races. Congratulations Duran.

Hawk Retros. All of the versions. Matt and Willy had the older inked stamped ones and Jimmy ran his second hand-out 7R.
