I'm guessing ski pole handle.
It's amazing someone hasn't reverse engineered that amazing controller and is selling them out of eastern Europe or China.

I'm with Mark, looks like a ski pole.

Geez! It doesn't seem that long ago that we were buying Parma controllers for the handle and frame, then making
a switch block from brass bar and phenolic sheet so we could wire a huge ceramic resister to it. Still have a couple
of those, both home made and from JK.

Hey Mike,
I remember the night you finished the controller and stopped down to DJ's Hot Slots (Sano Dave's place) and let a few of us try it out. Very smooth!

The ball point pen spring, mounted, wiper button, does work terrific.
Next time I race, I have to remember to use it.

Just curious about the three lugs at the top of the box. Are those imputs for 220v. or 440v. three phase? LOL

They are to hang the controller.
Some sort of plywood "clip"/ joiner.
Probably a Simpson Strong-Tie item.
Coincidently, they had their company Christmas party by me, a few years back.

Here is my scratch built controller - built around 1990 - 5mm " lexan sheet, 5 layers glued together around handle. parma trigger and brake/full power contacts.
When I built it I figured that there was so much time spent customizing a Parma that I may as well just buy a trigger and contacts and start from scratch. The lexan came from a windscreen off my brothers racing car.

My "steampunk" style controller based on a "Parma" handler.

David I like the idea of the simple controller handle with all the controls on the box, but the box is way to complicated. Just give me sensitivity and brake controls.

It looks like you used a few ft of leadwire wiring all that up lol.Thank god we switched to spray for the stuff I try to run these days, you just couldnt clean that crap up from your gear without going insane.
I know how much time I put into my old 10 band,I cant imagine how long it took to wire and build that.
