Ran it tonight, could see it was laying down flat on the straights.

Greg,

I think Steve is referring to the placement of the lane sticker.

I'm not sticking my finger in the fan of "the rules" but I can see a marketing opportunity for a 3" by 1" set of lane stickers.

:)  :bomb:

Missed that entirely. My bud Jay Guard always bends his lane sticker in half and makes the rear half stick up as a spoiler on the front of his bodies, so that didn't seem so odd to me.

And I don't think I'd ever seen that body so that's what caught my eye.

No, I don't think that sticker placement was get by most scrutineers or race directors.

Looks like someone ran past a spray can with that body in hand.

I did that as a joke about six years ago.

I made a T-shaped device, three stickers wide, that double stuck to the back of a Retro F1 car.

I was a bit surprised that there was zero increase in performance.

Obviously not a Retro F1, however if under IRRA® rules it was checked mid-race it would not be legal. Looks like a morphed Red Fox body.

I will fold up my lane sticker on the nose of my car sometimes. I have never noticed a difference, but it creates communication amongst competitors.

I was at a USRA race back in the '90s and a racer had used lane stickers to meet the roof height requirement. I do not remember them allowing it.

Back in the '70s we used to put three lane stickers across the rear spoiler like that, not sure if in reality it made a difference or not but in our minds it did.

Not legal under Retro rules maximum height requirements. A sticker placed that way further toward the front would be OK but not recommended should it fly off in the middle of a heat and the turn marshal doesn't know what lane to put the car on.

My buddy Stu would leave the lane stickers on to build up weight so he could pass tech weigh-in. Lol

I have a vintage Ebay purchase where a lexan flap was stapled over each front fender.  I don't know if that was a trick used back in the day or not.

Tim, those front wheel flaps were commonplace in the late 60's. I believe they were supposed to give added front end downforce. How well they worked, I don't know because I don't recall ever having them on my cars.
