When I saw this car I immediately thought of Edo.
Really cool build!
Thank you Matt... I was also thinking this might be something he would like, it's not a thingie but... close??

Here's the X-Acto car, from my photothèque (Model Car Science magazine, August 1966):
I was wondering about the wheels too: I think they're by Classic, but I don't remember them doing a black anodized version; maybe from the Viper.
Outstanding car Marinko!
Don
PS: just saw the wheels on ebay - Unique!

Don, thanks for finding that. Thats quite a scary looking car!
I just did a search on eBay and I found the exact wheels I have. If I remember correctly I bought them from the same guy years ago.
He also has the black ones.

Here are the ones I was looking at:

Given the seller, it may not be Unique wheels, just the tires, but they seemed similar to yours too.

I have that issue, but Don posted before I could scan it and post it. 1966 was the last year I subscribed to MCS.
After that it was Hot Rod. At the track I went to locally, spectators would usually stand holding on to the outside
track wall with their fingers hanging over on the track side. Any cars running the gutter lanes would hit their
fingers and de-slot. Many racers threatened to solder an X-Acto knife blade to the chassis with the point sticking
out from under the body. No one ever actually did it.

Thanks Mike - I had forgotten about that X-Acto ad that inspired the car in the first place - a clever ad too.

Hi Marinko,
Your Racing Stripe Slot Car, to me, moves the standard to a higher bar, for thinking/building "out of the box!".
Phenomenal indeed!
Thanks for sharing.
And Mike, thank you for sharing that photo - it's awesome!
