Kids races have always worked well on Friday nights. This becomes a reward for doing well in school and doesn't interfere with other weekend family plans. Also they don't have to get to bed as early. Try it!!

When we had a commercial raceway in Manchester from 1996-2010, Friday evenings was always kids' race night. Attendance was always good.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

The kids playing football are older than the ones you will get for the kids races. And the football players are not racing slot cars!!

Mike, remind me not to waste time responding to people who ask questions, then argue with the answers they get.

I would feel that the best night for kids racing would vary by location- is it possible to poll the potential racers?

Hmm.. best day?
Monday at noon - lots of kids don't want to go to school on Monday (or play football).
It's the reward for delivering those heavy Sunday papers with all the 'inserts'.
Get a good used 'short bus' and go around picking them up like it's 'day camp'.
Serve cookies and milk..... and pizza.
No peanut butter!
Uniforms might work - then they can 'suit up'.
Or ... just ask the kids parent(s) "when's good"
