I wonder what the investment was?
The only problem I see is I don't see how they would allow "real" slot racers in.
"Where do I plug my iron in and flick solder on the floor"?

Gee, I don't remember you attending the USRA race at Stamford Raceway.

Playing devil's advocate, if that company's intent is to generate a profit with that business model, why would they desire to attract "real" racers?
As I have stated many times, IMO the typical raceway sees only 15-20% of their revenue from their in-house organized racing programs. And no one has ever challenged me on that claim.

I remember Mike attending the '97 USRA Nats in Manchester, NH.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Greg,
There is nothing wrong with that at all.
My point was only that it's not a slot car raceway.
It's a party facility that happens to use slot racing as its amusement.

Yes, but that was not an interaction of the New York City/Long Island USRA and a Lou Del Rosario raceway.

LOL. Can you point me to the 'official' definition of a 'slot car raceway'?
I fully agree it isn't a 'traditional' slot car raceway with 'traditional' tracks.

Here's a story for you...
The 2002 (IIRC) USRA Div 2 Nats was held at Electric City Raceway in Anderson, SC, which for many years was the nicest raceway I'd ever seen. It's still in the top two or three.
Just before the Nats, raceway owner Ed Beard had the entire facility's floor covered with black and white checkerboard linoleum tile, wall to wall, even under the three(?) tracks. He also had the flooring guys inset a red cursive Electric City Raceway linoleum logo into the checkerboard tile just inside the front door. It was absolutely gorgeous.
I was the last guy there after the Nats and helped the Beards by sweeping the floor (gathering so many usable parts you wouldn't believe it) and the amount of solder flung on that brand-new linoleum floor along every line of pit tables had essentially ruined it. Hot solder embeds itself into linoleum tile very effectively...

I fully agree it isn't a 'traditional' slot car raceway with 'traditional' tracks.
I found the definition:
"Facility where someone can go on a Tuesday night with their 20-year old Turbo-fFex with dry-rotted tires, and the owner will sell him a new pair, slap some new strapping tape over the body clip holes, and they can have fun for about 45 minutes."
Mr. Tracks (?) makes beautiful tracks, with the loop the loops, etc., but I just don't understand how that business model works.
The most parties I've ever held in a month was 15, and that required a bunch of fancy scheduling.
All their great reviews seem to be mostly kid's birthday parties.
There are only so many Saturday and Sunday afternoons in a month.
Unless they are booking some of those $89 a head, corporate events, during the week, I don't see how they could survive.
FWIW, if I tried to float an $89 a head party, I'm 98% sure the reply would be "I'll need pictures of the girls, first." LOL.

It seems to me that Tim is looking for videos which will promote slot racing as a hobby rather than an amusement. A track that doesn't have an organized racing program is not going to stock slot cars and parts. Make sense, Tim?

What Tim is looking for, Dave, is an example of an adult slot car party for people at Fieldhouse Jones, downtown.
He wanted me to let them sit in on one of my parties, but I don't have any adult parties scheduled this month.
It won't do them much good to see me convincing a bunch of five-year olds, running full tilt, at 6Vv that they're "winning". LOL.

I don't know the real definition of one, but a really good example can be seen HERE. And I've never flicked solder on the floor!
Greg, I don't throw my lane stickers on the floor either. Can you believe that?
KVP,
Thanks much for the props.
I'm grateful.
So grateful, I'm going to skip posting the video footage I have of you dribbling Jackie Swiss brownie crumbs on the raceway floor.

Actually, Mike, it is for the charity birthday party auction coming up you were so kind to donate to.
But the other reason works too, two birds, one stone.

OK, I get it now. The Sunday Fun Days are probably the closest thing you have going.
And as I remember, the Wednesday night race grew out of a bunch of people from a local auto dealer reserving that night to get together.
