No sound, but I wish there was!

Scanned footage of an 8mm film courtesy of the AACA Library and Research Center.

The course was only 3/4 of a mile long and is actually an access road for the Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA. It was put on by the local SCCA chapter from 1958 until 1970 and is today run as a vinatge car hillclimb as part of The Elegance at Hershey AACA old car meet.

Great video!

I'm in our local AACA club so a vintage race at Hershey is very cool! The Hershey Hillclimb idea needs to be worked into our local 1/32 club MSCRAM in the themed event planned for Memorial Day Weekend in 2018. The theme for the Race and Concours d'Elegance is period Sports and GTs.

Meanwhile MSCRAM is planing a President's Day 2018 American Muscle/Trans-Am theme race and Concours d'Elegance at the Marshall International Raceway.

The last MSCRAM Theme event was the highly successful October Speedfest Celebrating the 24 Heuers du Mans, 1970. We had over twenty participants and about a hundred cars entered in the races and concours activities.

The race report was published on the Manta Ray Reunion Slot Car Group Facebook page. The issue is downloadable under the 'files' tab. The "Promenade" issue documenting the concours event (opening parade, photo sessions, concours displays and movie scene reenactments) is still in progress. Check back with the Manta Facebook page for p dates.

Wow, what an entertaining video.

A great cast of cars.

It was worth it just to see #14, on the edge, at 1:28, and #39 totally losing it, at 2:30.

It looks like a real fun road.

If I was in that area, I would take it, vs. going down the Hershey Highway, any day.

Yes. Great video. Reminds me of the Alpine Valley hillclimb that the VSCDA did back in its early years. Some well-known cars shown, including the Elva Porsche and the Peyote Special.

Seems the AACA Research Library has scanned a bunch of 8mm videos from the Hershey Hillclimb. I'm going to post the rest of them here.

Once again, great stuff! Some pretty rare and obscure cars.
