I think you should run it on a track once to see it's speed and the Cortina brake. It really won't lose value because it's already been played with and is missing the box.

If you race it, can you please tape it and put it on youtube?

As an example, the same 3-4 cars have been changing hand over on E-Pay for the past 15 years. We know of very few collectors with one.

The K&B Batmobile that sold for $6450 was originally bought from a collector in England and then the Batman collector decided to sell his collection. The $6100 Batmobile was sold by a slot car fan who had it for around 28 years.

Sheldon,
Our guess is based on what we have seen or heard over the past 20 years. As an example, the same 3-4 cars have been changing hand over on E-Pay for the past 15 years. We know of very few collectors with one. There are very few out there in decent shape, but there are a few.
By "body pin", I assume that you are talking about the black steel clip that holds the body through two holes on each side?
If the car is damaged, there is no harm to play with it, but even amaged it is quite valuable, so if I were you I would play with something else, try to get the ar back to near pristine condition through a restoration process and hunt for the clear plastic box and replacement inner packing. :)

YOU ARE CORRECT, IT IS THE BLACK STEEL CLIP. I HAVE PUT THE CAR IN A DISPLAY CASE, WITH OTHER SCALES OF CARS. I DIDNT REALIZE WHAT IT WAS WHEN I GOT IT, UNTIL AFTERWORDS. I LOOKED IN YOUR BOOK, AND ONLY THEN DID I KNOW WHAT IT WAS. I DONT REALLY HAVE A PLACE LOCALLY TO RUN IT. ONLY IN LOVELAND, COLO. I READ THE DISCRIPTION ON THE ONE ON EBAY, MINE ISNT TO FAR AWAY FROM THAT ONE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY, SHELDON

Sheldon,
Can you take pictures of it and post them? I might be able to help you bring it back to snuff... :)

Sheldon,
It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks totally original and in good condition. It could use new braided contacts, a bit of a straightening of one of the body clips and some polish, but overall it looks excellent. By the way the little Russkit Ferrari RTR in that brown box is very rare and very desirable.

It took awhile to add the pictures but we got it done. I picked up that ferrari up at an antique store. it doesnt look to have ever been on the track. What kind of polish would you use? Is any body clips available? I have put a battery to the batmobile, it didnt sound to fast by the ear dyno, but the battery could have been low. What voltage was recommended for them?
Thank you very much.

Well I finally got to the track in loveland and when the track was clear, I ran the car around. it was good . seamed to have good power. It seamed to compare to slots from the same time frame. I was happy with it, back in the display case it went.
thank you sheldon
