Well, just spent a half hour down in our storage room, and couldn't find the set... pretty sure I brought it back to France at some point, since I remember testing it here, but maybe it's still down in my brother's crawl space!

To be continued... and if anybody has some track, feel free to show it!

Yep, that's it Gene.... hmm, doesn't look like much of a slot there, shallow or not. Will have to find mine and check!

I don't really see a slot, period. I'm more confused than ever.

Sorry but no parts diagrams or repair instructions are available.  We cannot assist in the identification and selection of the repair parts.  All parts are original and new as we got them from the A.C. Gilbert factory.

Well, still haven't found my set, but did find a clearer picture of the shallow slot, thanks to Bernard Sampson, in this THREAD (post 59).

Here's another set now up on ebay, that shows the track in more detail, when you use the magnifying feature:

https://www.ebay.com...fMAAOSwgZteRG3C

There is a sort of shallow slot in the center, more of a depression, undoubtedly to keep the magnet in line. In one of the photos you can see the difference with the current-carrying rails, which are really flush. Not quite slotless I'd say.

Since I never found my set, this has sort of eaten at me, so have kept looking off and on...
