These are some great comments from some great racers of the past. It will take a day or two but I'll find more pictures of Ray to post.

 

I liked Ray from the day he walked into the Champion office. He was an avid slot racer and in town working for a company called SurVad (sp?). They made automated phone calls, probably at dinner time. He hit it off with the owner/founder of Champion, Jim Williams, and I hired him. He was around for years.

 

Ray had more talent than anyone I have ever known.

 

RIP, Ray.

Oh no! Even though I never met the man he was always posting nice things on my Facebook page. 

 

So sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace!

Thanks to Ray for paving the way and putting smiles on the face of a lot of people. In this age of specialization you don't see his like very often.

I had the pleasure of "talking " to him via email and IM. He was always kind to me and provided me with a ton of information as well as his book.
