PX77S is an extremely high grade full synthetic oil made exclusively for us by one of the largest producers of lubricants in the world.
The low initial parasitic drag of PX77S theoretically allows a small amount more power to reach the tires of a slot car and the high yield strength and exceptional shear stability under compression, IE: acceleration out of a turn or downforce on a banked turn, reduces wear on axles, motor shafts and bushings.
Being a synthetic oil, the molecules are of a very consistent size/shape which also reduces wear. PX77S contains no coloring contaminants which could lead to additional drag and friction.
So called FULL synthetic oils are produced from natural gas which we have a surplus of here in the USA. Natural gas is also much cleaner and virtually free of contaminants found in crude oil. This allows PX77S to be far purer than a lubricant made from crude oil. This is particularly important in slot cars because the tolerances between axle/motor shaft and bushing are very small.
PX77S is a full synthetic Group IV PAO (Poly-alpha-olefin polymer) oil made in the USA and as such is a small contributor to lessening our country’s dependence on imported petroleum products.
