We are a new track just trying to get started. 135' Hillclimb and 1,000' drag strip. Hoping to get some afternoon racing during the week and for sure on the weekends.

A 150' oval is in the making.

Next project will be two new 1/4 mile drag tracks so we can run brackets faster. Will let the next set of cars be ready while the first is racing, should cut the time a third. And we are planning to add return lanes; I've never seen any tracks with a return lane. The material is ordered. plus the electric wizard is on hand to wire the tracks. Wanting to have a national race sometime next year.

The slot car hobby shop is ready and has stock to purchase cars, controllers, whatever you need.

Road course open Saturdays at 12 to 4 for right now; will be open later as we get more racers.

I will be at the drag track from 3 to 7 or longer on Fridays.

As we start getting racers we will be open longer and during the weekdays.

The hobby shop is open on the weekends. Still stocking the pegboard with parts.

Look for the Speedgate sign and check out our WEBSITE.

going to take pictures this weekend after i get more parts on the wall.

i have drag cars and road cars on stock for new racers. i have been told maybe saturday some people are coming in.

the old timers are thinking of racing

i would like to get the drag strip going during the week and fridays. i am getting my cars ready.

i have a new software i want, but waiting till there are racers.

any time there would be 8 or more racers on a week day, we will race for a dinner at speedgate grill. good to use any time. ( winner only ) 16 racers and will add runner up

pit pass would be 10.00 at the drag tracks for practice or races and shop gets 1.00 per car entered. and the racers can throw in as much money as they want to race for!

we do not supply anything. you need glue purchase it, you need cleaner you can purchase that also or bring your own!

i am marking the track for how far you can clean and glue.

the track will be cleaned from start to finish before a race or practice. no more cleaning until race is over. ( be prepared ) just like the real tracks in the world.

if you think i am wrong please let me know! i am open minded to a point! i like the mother nature way. we do not clean real tracks, and slot tracks will be the same thing. prepare your car accordingly no race track makes a track to fit your car. ( you make your car fit the track! )

this from the local racers.

i can not believe i lost the editors name and number. please send it to me. i want to advertise!

asking people if they want to run at the SPEEDGATE RACEWAYS drag strip november 24 saturday open at 10 for time runs. start at 12 run brackets.

10.00 pit pass and 4 cars @ 4.00 each 100% pay back on car fee! or 16.00 to make sure you under stand how much the prize money is!

you can run 1 car 4 times if you want! or 4 different cars. some new people may only have 1 car but still want to race!

1st and second, and the last 2 racers can determine if they want to race for it all! or go for 1st and second!

now here is the kicker. i must have people send me confirmation that they are coming and i will confirm, if we do not get at least 8 people the wed before the race.

there will be no race.  :dash2:  WWW.SPEEDAGTEBAR.COM TO CONFIRM OR CALL ME!

so if people around warren want to ( drag race ) let me know!  :shok:

plus it will be on facebook and the webpage.

i sent out advertisement. looks like people are going to start coming to race. ( just need to figure out how to get them moving )

send me e-mail OR CALL to ( confirm you are coming, if we do not get enough i will e-mail OR CALLYOU back thursday that there will be no race.

i do not know how else to get races going. only way i know how to find out if there are any drag racers around this area ( warren ohio )   :good:    :bomb:   :victory:

HAPPY THANKS GIVING

i hope every one under stands this is a new track just starting up. got to wake up the racers!   :bomb:   :bomb:   :bomb:

making a new drag strip at the hobby shop. starting next week

The hill climb is really fast. got the times down to 4 seconds now! still getting faster.

the racers need to work on the tires and some weight to make faster laps. i am showing them

how to setup there cars. just ordered a new huddy tire machine. and making a tire assembly machine.

making a painted body or plastic body installation platform. it should make mounting these bodies much easier. the slot hobby needs this tool

so racers can put their cars and trucks, drag racing and road racing bodies on their frames. I do not like guessing where to put the hole to mount bodies.

This tool will adjust to pin hole locations so you just set the body over the frame and make the pin holes, screw holes or clips.

me and the racers were talking last night! a 120 foot tri oval will be in the works soon. i wanted a 200 foot flat track. but most said they want the oval.

and oval cars and trucks are cool. so i am on the drawing board. unless i find one i like.

I hope every one had there fill of turkey and had a wonderful thanksgiving.

NOW BACK TO RACING.

WED. NIGHT = GTP CLASS RACING STARTS AT 5:00 ( ROUND ROBIN STYLE )

FRIDAY NIGHT = GTP CLASS UNTIL WE GET ENOUGH RACERS THAT HAS 1/32 INDY CARS

SATURDAY 12 NOON TO 5:00 ( OPEN TRACK ). WANT TO HAVE STOCK CAR RACE IF WE GET THE RACERS IN THE AFTERNOON.

SUNDAY 1:00 TO 4:00 UNLESS WE HAVE A BUNCH OF RACERS. ( OPEN TRACK )

THE HOBBY SHOP IS PRETTY FULL RIGHT NOW. WILL ORDER IN MORE 1/32 FRAMES AND TIRES AND BODIES FOR INDY CARS

WOMPS MAY BE FUN ALSO. I MAY GET A COUPLE TO PLAY AROUND WITH AND SEE IF THE GUYS LIKE THEM.

OK THATS IT FOR NOW. IF YOU LIVE CLOSE TO WARREN OHIO, WE CAN GET YOU WHAT YOU NEED AT A GOOD PRICE, AND TEACH YOU HOW TO RACE.

COME OUT AND HAVE SOME FUN WITH THE RACERS. WE ARE VERY HELPFUL.

"I've never seen any tracks with a return lane."

In the mid 80's, we had a drag strip at the local slot car track in morganton, NC after they moved from the next town over. It had a working Christmas tree (pre-computer) and a return lane. The lanes crossed over way past the finish line, and basically the cars made a u-turn and came back on the opposite side from where they started.

Sounds great, in theory. Eventually, the braid was removed several feet back from the starting line because too many chassis got bent when they slammed into the end of the slot at some speed that was more than necessar

So a word of caution, consider the return speed needs to be a LOT lower than the race speed, and you still need space to stop the car.
Mike Reibman
Alleged amateur racer.
Mostly just play with lots of cars.
Able to maintain slot cars with a single bound.
Faster than a speeding Womp.
More powerful than a 36D.

The body mounting jig that you talk about above is available from About 3 or 4 sources already. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Why don’t you run some of the OCC classes that already exist and guys will have cars for? Probably 20 guys within an hour of you that have run OCC races fairly recently.

The OCC GT1 and GTP are 2 of the more popular classes in the Region.  Offering those in your race program would be a good choice.  Fast, cheap and every nearby track in your area races them.

so where can i purchase a body mount system for all car bodies and frames? i have looked every where you say 3 or 4 . i have not seen one! so yes i am reinventing the new wheel from stone to bubber! so until i see one i really think no one makes anything ( good ) to mount painted bodies. if there was at least one i would have tried it!. waiting where i can purchase one!

we will run the gtp but the others i and the racers do not like. nascar and nastruck, the new semi truck and 1/32 gtp, wing car and nascar class are the best classes. prof and 4002 run together and i am having made a new c-can motor that is between g12 and 4002 motor. something that is under 50.00 and you do not throw away. it will be our motor to run here very soon.

ERI generally carries Rick's stuff, but otherwise you can contact Rick Bennardo directly. He's great about dealing straight with raceways and had produced an excellent OCC specific tech tool for us.
