This is the ugly stepsister to the 250 GTO in my opinion.
All the lines were eventually cleaned up by the 3rd version of the 330 but the fact that it did manage to win a few races makes it worthy of a classy build.
So, this will be built as a mid 1960's jaildoor "scale" car!
Meaning, the paint and markings will be accurate as possible to a chassis number and the the wheel diameters and details as close as possible for a running slot car.
Starting with a 1963 Ferrari 250 LM molded by Pactra.
Power is via a K&B rewind Bobcat motor that remains strong all these years. But I may... maybe... possibly, swap out the old magnets for some modern parma 16D magnets just because I have a bunch of them.
And they are stronger.
But it feels pretty good as it is so... still considering the options.
Okay, now we deviate into darker waters... by using some Pro-Track wheels in order to keep the look "Scale".
Fronts fit a 3/32" axle while the rears fit a 1/8" axle. Both will be trimmed to the correct length.
The inserts by the way are from a model car kit.
They are two piece and can be found in the 1964 Buick Riviera and the Cushenberry Silhouette model kits by AMT.
As for a guide.... Have a number of vintage options available, as I want this to look as vintage/scale as possible.
Driveable, but not really raceable.
Not these days anyway.
Hope to have an update each day when possible.
Cutting axles and brass right now so... stay tuned!
