February's D3 Hardbody races at Buena Park Raceway was another record breaking day. An excellent turnout of hardbody racers along with three new total lap records set in three races! The first two races were mixed races each with 14 entries per race. The final race of the day was among 8 GTPs.
The first mixed race (of two) saw Jim Lane set a new total lap record for the Short Track NASCAR class with 251 laps. Hector Gonzalez was second while tying the lap total record for the 3C's hardtop class with 248 laps.
The second mixed race saw Hector (Gonzo) break Jim's new lap total by recording 253 laps for the Short Track NASCAR class. Gonzo didn't let Jim enjoy his new record for long! Gonzo's new 1950 Ford Short Track NASCAR is a cool looking and fast car.
The final race of the day was for GTPs. Again, Jim Lane set a new total lap record of 266 laps (28 sections). An awesome race for Jim.
Three new records in three races, the fastest D3 Hardbody race day yet!
Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at BPR.
Thanks to our race directors, Victor Dubrowsky and Hector Gonzalez.
