NOS Lancer 2E body and interior and a new Lancer 2E body, interior, and wing kit from Gene Adams. Up to his usual standards, it is as crisp and detailed as the original. Gene has done an outstanding job on all the associated body parts, too.

The only thing missing would be a nice set of wing struts, kind of like the BZ 2E used. Martin Windmill stepped up and used an original strut to make tooling to die cut new struts. He made some perfect new struts.

All that remained was to build one. Philippe put a great thread on here of rebuilding that first original I found on eBay and this is the same procedure. Here's a shot of installed struts on the replica car I built; it is exactly like my original.

So far so good.

Here's the body mounted with struts installed.

P1010005.JPG

Lancer wing is painted on the outside and the bottom panel has slots or holes cut where the strut tip pokes through.  Easily bend the tabs down and put a little clear silicone around the edges then install the top wing panel.

You end up with this, a nice replica of a car once thought to not exist!  Wheelbase is still wrong, but if you are not a purist, the wheel openings in front can be trimmed a little larger to the front of the opening and the same done to the back side of the rear opening and the car will look a lot better.  Decals came from Patto's.

Martin and Gene knocked themselves out making these great parts. Thanks to both of them for all their efforts to help all us guys keep this secret little hobby alive!

Parts look great!  Working on a website now, and when I get back from the vintage races in Bordeaux Gene's bodies will be available.  Have had a few here asking about availability.  www.bradblohm.com coming soon for Gene's bodies, my resin parts, my vintage cars and parts, and whatever other stuff I'm asked for.

Could be the second time around for this car.     I might have pix of this car offered last year sometime with a ridiculous price and it wasn't sold.    I will check  my pix and see if this one is in there.

Matt,

I am pretty saw you are correct. I remember those crude wing struts.

This individual currently has 28 items, not all slot car, for sale on eBay. In my opinion, all 28 have a very inflated price. Either the guy needs quick money, is on a fishing expedition, or has an ego that matches his pricing. If this car was worth its asking price, it'd already be in the LASCM.

LASCM already has a few and I sold Scott the first one I found for lot, lot less than $5k.     I think there are lots of guys that fish on Ebay.     The blue 2E was listed last year at  the same ridiculous price and didn't sell.     If the guy can get a crazy price on a few items, he makes out great and as I always say, buyer beware.

This week a guy selling a bunch of Cox stuff he bought to re-sell, had a 2E body kit listed and it went for $250 or so.  It was clearly a repro resin body, but it didn't state that in the listing.   I doubt if he knew, even though I told him.   A couple fools didn't have enough knowledge to know they were buying a repro.    Seller should be happy, buyer may never know he has a $75-$100 resin body.  He may learn when he tries to make it fit properly and it breaks.    Buyer beware.
