Here a picture showing the evolution of Unicar chassis from 1965 to 1968.

First chassis ( 1st row on the left) and later aluminium frame made for the Sport reproduction bodies ( Ferrari P2,P3,Dino,Giulia TZ2)

The last made in nylon with aluminium rear to fit the "Nuovo tipo" also called Superaerodinamica the"Bisiluro" and Ferrari 612.

Thanks for sharing. I had never seen any of these cars.

Growing up in England, I am supersized this brand was not exported there. At the track I raced it was all U.S and a few U.K. brands sold.

Dose Unicar have any connection to Miniwheels, other than they are both from Italy?

Thanks Riccardo, love seeing these chassis. That last one may be the highest performance inline production chassis ever made!

Martin, you're probably thinking of Mini Dream, the other big Italian company - I think your supersized spell checker ran wild!

Hi Riccardo,

I know that this is a bid ask, but if you can provide the various dimensions of the final edition "Superaerodinamica" of the Unicar chassis and some close-up photos, I can 3d print it.

Thanks,

Bill Leone

Unicar and Mini Dream Car were at the time in competition...Mini Dream Car with the Mini A/B/C type won many more races than Unicar.

When mini Dream built the "Mini Can Am" (1968) it was the most winning slot in italian races. One year later Unicar stopped its activity.

In 1969 the era of slotcars in Italy was at an end. Unicar stopped production and continued to sell the remaining stock for a while. The molds of the nylon chassis were sold in Argentina and began to be produced under the brand "AUTOZOOM"

Here a rare Autozoom slotcar I purchased years ago on ebay and a page from the catalogue that advertised it ...

Rear part of the chassis was constructed of steel instead of aluminium and was designed to house the Mura motor instead the ft26D mounted by Unicar.

The photo motor is obviously not the correct one. I bought it that way....

Wow, that's a new one for me Riccardo, thanks for posting!

Autozoom, eh? Maybe even the LASCM doesn't have one of those...

The last pic is the lid of the package, which actually is a1/24 body :-)
The original price tag (in Danish Kroner = $14,-) is till there.
