Greg,   i didn't know the IRRA approved guide flags.

 

both the taper and the pampa guides have been run in irra events

Some one told me the tapered ones could not be used. It is good to know that they are both legal, Now all you have to do is get Dennis to put the weights in the tapered ones.

 

I for one would buy a bunch of those instead of the ones I have been using.

Tapered ones can be used, they just need to be shortened by about .015.

They need to be shortened because they are longer than the IRRA guide shoe (blade) regulations of .086" wide and 1.060" long.

It is legal to shorten the guide blade to meet these requirements.

Maybe I'm living in the dark ages, but I wish someone would make a low CG guide from the old Starburst guide.

 

I have a couple of cars that want the shorter guide.

Why not drill it all the way through and put five slugs all the way through?

they are milled all the way through.

they have 10 tungsten pellets epoxied in place

That's my point. Wouldn't it be easy to set five longer slugs than 10 shorter ones?

What am I missing in understanding the process that you use?
