Paul (Pablo): why is this even in your wheelhouse? Are you intending to come to Dallas for the Two Step? I'm sure you'd be welcomed. It's a great bunch of people!
The Dallas Slot Cars Facebook page clarifies that they run under R.E.T.R.O. rules www.retroslotracing.com. They don't post here officially. Questions can be asked directly through their Facebook
page and they usually answer promptly.
The 7 tooth anomaly is well known, but as far as I know, no one has ever had success with a 7 tooth pinion at DSC anyway. Usual gearing there is 8/28 or 29.
Some "might" try a 7/27 but it would probably be short on top end at DSC. Kind of a self-defeating move, as someone mentioned accidentally using that combination last year.
Kevin: the Puppy Dog reference is in the general rules section and is clearly mentioned in context of the WSC (coupe) class. The Anglewinder rules also allow Big Dog or Puppy Dog
armatures in a ceramic magnet Pro Slot mini motor can. DSC seems to have lost interest in that class, though. It's not included this year and hasn't been on the schedule for some time now.
