Unsmooth party

With the start of Fall, party season kicked in , and I hosted a couple, late, yesterday afternoon, and going into the early evening.
The first one had run well, with nice people, with a good Mexican buffet, to go along with Pizza Hut pizza, from next door.
As it was winding down, with "Happy Birthday" being sung, and I was thinking of the next party, which was going to start 30 minutes after, the following occurred;
A couple of local racers, were bringing their box condo's, in, through the back door, after being at a series race, at another raceway.
One commented, "What's burning?"
I looked at the table where the cake was, and the mother of the birthday boy was trying to relight the candles, as they were now singing a 2nd, birthday song.
I assumed that had something to do with the burning smell, maybe with the paper under the cake having caught fire for a moment.
Well the smell got worse and worse, and as I was scanning the raceway, a commotion broke out near the microwave, that sits on top of refrigerator.
One of the party people opened the microwave door, and smoke billowed out.
Someone had put some wrapped tacos, inside, to reheat.
They must of totally misunderstood the controls, and forgot that they had put them in there.
Anyway, someone removed them, and threw them in the nearby bathroom sink.
The raceway was filled with smoke.
Both doors got opened, including the back overhead door, with all fans operating.
The next party started to arrive, and the situation was explained to them.
Luckily, it was the 2nd party in a row, they were holding for their eldest son, Owen, by me, and were totally sympathetic. "Not your fault...there's nothing you can do".
The party featured a super-close race, with the birthday boy edging out a classmate, by about 8 ft., for the win, with the middle brother, finishing 3rd.
With the overhead door open, the raceway aired out pretty quickly and thoroughly, and by the time the party ended, and I offered them a "discount" in lieu of the situation, the parents laughed like it wasn't an issue, and the kids went home happy, with their snacks/prizes from the "10 second, candy bar challenge".
The past home of my microwave, which got thrown away.
The exciting race from the 2nd party.

Wait until someone throws in a bag of microwave popcorn and turns the timer to 10 minutes.
Believe everything they warn about on the popcorn instructions. Don't ask how I know.

IIRC, that time, I thought about, but did not toss the microwave.
I did quit carrying popcorn.

A trick for your food sales, Mike: after the micro has been through a few cycles of good food (not burnt paper) turn it on for about 20 seconds while empty, open the door, and your customers will be hungry.
Also make sure the freezer full of Klondike Bars is nearby so they can see it.
Slot cars and food, yeah

They have been average sellers, probably because my freezer door isn't clear. Lol

The Klondike bars are stored right under that burn mark, in the middle of the top of the fridge.
They have been average sellers, probably because my freezer door isn't clear. Lol
In lieu of a clear door post a picture of the contents. Works for teenagers shopping the fridge for a snack.
