In case anyone is interested, here's what I've been doing for the last few days. The 'invasion' will continue into early next week.

Learning to drive your slot car as if it was on rails? :laugh2:

Being that my other hobby is the less competitive world of model railroading, thanks for volunteering your time to a great organization.

That's some adventure, Greg!

Thank you for sharing.

How many "Hershey Bars" will you bring back home with you?  LOL.

Probably none. I'm not a big fan of chocolate, to tell you the truth. I prefer white chocolate, which of course isn't chocolate at all.

I had one chocolate-coated donut at the CCCA tent Wednesday morning and that's it so far.

A fond memory from my youth (with a bit of schadenfreude mixed in) - it was the winter of '47 or '48 and the east was hit by a particularly heavy snow. The NY Central was heavily converted to diesel - and the diesels couldn't handle the heavy snow so they had to fire up some of the retired but still available steam power to pull the flagship long distance trains!

There's something about trains, little boys and grown-up old men.  :)

Thanks for sharing, Greg.

After working for about six months at the train museum, I am convinced that the Y male chromosome has at least one train gene somewhere along its length. There isn't a young boy who isn't crazy about trains...

Someone needs to produce train slot cars so we can race them.  :)

Way back Aurora made Model Motoring track sections that mated with Revell brass snap-track to create a grade level crossing.

When I had an HO layout, I used them to merge my slot cars with my model railroading. The cars were the reed motor type.
