Anyone have a set of rear wheels to spare?

How about 16D purple motors?

Any help would be appreciated!

Jeff,

About all I can offer is stock paper number decals and I bought a roll (plenty) of light blue pin striping tape the correct width.

I assume you are going for stock?

As close to original as I can replicate.

$35 on Ebay for the motor

The Dyna Grip grey rear tires, although not original equipment, make a good substitute when available.

Jeff, I think Cox Torq Thrust mags are pretty close to the Dynamics. A lot easier to find.

Your body mount is not one of mine is it? I know mine had the mounting hole off center ( just like stock) and did not have the flat on the top.

Do you need one of my repo body mounts for the other chassis?

No, Martin, it is not one of your mounts on this car. It is an original. I have another original for the other car.

I do have a few of both of your mounts stashed away for future projects.

Still need a pair of rear wheels for the other chassis. And one more motor. I think I have the correct rear axle.

2 Gene/ZR1 Bandit bodies here at The Wolcott Ranch are trimmed, hand sanded, mounted, notches cut, cockpits masked, and ready to paint tonight. Lord please don't let me screw this up  :)

IMG_4636.JPG

Here is a tip I learned for my notch gizmo. After you tape it down to the body, use your harpoon to punch several holes. This makes cutting the notches a thousand times quicker and easier

IMG_4634.JPG

Paint mixture is Auto-Air Candy Root Beer (main color), with small squirts of Fasred, Faspearl Gold, and Tamiya Copper

IMG_4627.JPG

All mixed up ready to go

Painting skinny bodies like these is like trying to spray paint the inside of a Chalupa from Taco Bell. I masked the entire outside to prevent overspray

I think I did OK on the paint mix, Rotor, what do you think? Now, where are those doggone Bandit decals Martin gave me?  :)

Now that's a great color mix Paul. Love it. :good:

I'm pretty sure I have more numbers if you need. I also bought a roll of self sticking light blue tape 1/8" wide. That's close to factory hue. Just let me know :)

I forgot to say, the Gene/ZR1 bodies were nice to trim, everything is very precise and cut lines for wheelwells were in perfect placement. I used my gizmo to cut the four mounting notches right at the cut lines for them and they turned out perfect for Rotor's cars  :good:  :good:  :good:

Don't loose that paint mix, Pablo... It looks like you'll be painting my Renegades when Gene gets them to me.   :laugh2:

Martin's decorative trimmings worked well. He uses this to attach them

msg-1610-0-67128600-1578525284.jpg

I used this:

medium-glazing-americana-ds18-medium.jpg

And it worked fine for me. I brushed an extra coat on after they dried to protect them. I found a pair of "Dynamic" waterslide decals in my stash and gave them a light coat of the glaze also

You can fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, same on me.

Sorry that just popped into my head.

Are you not going to paint the black faux openings at the nose and at the side of the canopy?

Nice job. :good:

Enlighten me, please, I don't know what you mean. I'm not a Bandit historian like you guys are. I can do whatever Jeff wants me to. But it will be good to info me before I box it up and send it to him  :)

I am referring to the grill in the nose and the side scoops behind the canopy. They get painted black. But no big deal. Just a small detail.

Could not find a good shot of the rear on line,so took a pic of mine, looks flat black Not satin.
