Greetings,

I stumbled across this website that offers 1/24 resin slot car vintage bodies.

Is anyone familiar with the quality of their work please?   It looks very nice from the photos.

It looks to be a Cox style body, and I'm wanting to acquire one for a RetroMod scratchbuild for my collection.

Here's the link and a photo:    https://www.theparts...etah-body-pack/

Cheetah Body_Parts Box.jpg

It's new and complete (with windshield!!) , and for the price of $59.95, to me that's a bargain considering the price of used Cheetah bodies I've seen on eBay; and that's if you can find them!

Thanks for looking.

The first thing I look for on a resin body is body thickness and then the second being weight.

Judging from the picture they look to have the moulding process under control and thickness seems even so for the price I say go for it.

These guys are in Australia....I have heard of them before and have heard only good things.

I have 2 of their bodies,  a 64 Ford Falcon Sprint, and  a  72-73 Mazda RX-2. Both of them are pretty neat castings. Some of the nicest resin bodies I've ever bought. Relatively thin walled,  and crisp details.

I'm happy with them!

Looks nice. Don at Modelhaus did one but it was a full kit and did not have clear lenses. Anyway, they are no longer around and this looks like a great alternative.

Rotor, are yours that yellowy color or all white? The white stuff some casters are using looks and feels just like styrene. I like it much better.

Joe,

Mine are a little bit yellow, not pure white.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for sharing those photos and your observation!

What are your plans for chassis type please?

FYI - I've owned an RX-2 Two door and Four door, also owned a 1978 Mazda RX-7, that I built as a IMSA GTU body style promotional Street Driven vehicle for Hayashi Racing Wheels back in the early 80's.

It would be fantastic if I could find an RX-7 MSA GTU model kit to make into a slot car!

I was also the San Francisco Region RX7 Club Representative back in the days!  Lots of fun!

I always admire your "Kindy Kar" pix!

Rotaries are awesome!

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for taking the time to provide those links, but those models all have the JDM style flares.

The IMSA style flares, like the ones I molded onto my RX-7 were created by a defunct shop called "Creative Car Craft".

Racing Beat has a style similar to the CCC style - which are the flares I'd like to see on a model kit.

Maybe, sometime I'll acquire a kit like the ones you posted, and alter the flares.

Another project added to my list - hahahhaa!

Are you employing the 12A or the 13B  motor in your race cars?

Thanks for your time Jeff.

I know I've seen a kit with the later style flares, but didn't find it yet.

I have a 10A (!!!) in Kinky Kar, a 12A in the road race car, and 13B in most of the street cars and the REPU's.

I've never seen a 10A - is it physically smaller than the 12A?

Thanks Jeff!

This is going to be stupid but what is the purpose of a resin body?  Don't you have to buy the correct model kit for all the parts and pieces?

Their quality is excellent! I have never purchased a body from them, but have been buying Weber carbs and various turbo's from them for a good 10 years now.
