According to posts on Facebook, noted flexi racer Mike Shaw has passed away. I have no other info at this time.

Mike was active with the Kelly Racing guys here in the southeast in the '90s and maybe later.

I'm not sure he's been racing in recent years.

Not even sure where he was living; last I heard he was in Florida.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

This hits pretty hard for me, and I assume anyone that raced slot cars in Florida in the '90s or 2000s. He was always just a big kid, and everyone that raced with him probably has a funny Shaw story they recollect.

Yeah, he will be missed!! A great guy. I remember all the great battles we had long long time ago. Great memories.

Wow! way to young.

I have not seen him in years but really enjoyed traveling with Mike to races all over the country and many nights prepping and building cars.

RIP Mike
