Can-Am on the Figure 8 – 11/3/2020

 

Can-Am on the Figure 8 was the order of business this past Tuesday at MVH. A seven-car field ran in 4/4 format and, unlike some other races run on November 3rd, a winner was declared at the end of the evening.

 

Can-Am Cars in Tech:

 

Richard Payne set the fastest time of the evening with a 3.187 but Nate “Spudboy” Bemis was able to take another win (he won the last time we raced Can-Am on the Figure 8) with some consistent driving even though he had a slight disadvantage with a coupe body. Nick Ball, who matched Nate’s fastest lap time, claimed the second step on the podium while Richard ended up third. John Weaver was in the race but his 7-tooth pinion (he was breaking in a motor) put him at a slight disadvantage on the straight parts of the Figure 8, thus relegating him to a fourth place finish, one lap behind Richard. Peter Lentros, Tom Smith and Tom Stickney closed out the field.

Nate has run great on that figure-8 track for years. . Tues's results shows he still can.

You got that right Bill.  I LOVE it.

 

But , had John Weaver not been running motors in for the big race I think the rest of us would have been looking for scraps.
