SCRRA Retro racing is back on the King track at Piranha Speedway this Saturday.  The usual SCRRA schedule with F1 beginning in the morning at 10 AM followed by a short lunch break and Can Am starting in the early afternoon.

Despite the easing of Federal mask restrictions recently, California is still requiring masks at all indoor activities....apparently till June 15.  So, see you there and bring your mask!

Here are the results from the SCRRA King track races at Piranha Speedway on Saturday.  In both F1 and Can Am we ran 2 races for each event and combined the total laps.

                                                    F1 Results

                             1)        Tore Anderson                355 Laps

                             2)        Tim Wood                       348

                             3)        Bryan Warmack              347

                             4)        Sam Rackham                346

                             5)        John Wakamatsu            336

                             6)        Eduardo Arriva                331

                             7)        Joe Gallagher                 327

                             8)        Brad Adams                    320

                             9)        Earl McCutcheon            311

                            10)       Mill Conroy                      109

Solid run by Tore to the victory and a super close race for the final podium spots between Tim, Bryan and Sam!

Fastest race lap to Tore with a 3.84.  Tore Anderson has now won some kind of organized professional slotcar

race in 7 decades!  Congrats Tore!  :good:

                                                  Can Am Results

                             1)        Duran Trujillo                   374 Laps

                             2)        Tore Anderson                 366

                             3)        Alex Freund                     365

                             4)        Mill Conroy                      361

                             5)        Sam Rackham                 361

                             6)        Bryan Warmack               360

                             7)        Tim Wood                        346

                             8)        John Wakamatsu            343

                             9)        Eduardo Arriva                342

                            10)       Brad Adams                    339

                            11)       Joe Gallagher                  335

                            12)       Earl McCutcheon            157

Duran took off and from the 1st lap slowly ran away and nearly equaled his track record total of 375 laps!  And, as in F1, a super battle for the final podium spots with Tore just edging Alex at the end!  Good runs by John Wakamatsu and Eduardo in both races as they haven't raced for a while and great job by out of towner Brad Adams!   Fastest lap to Duran at 3.65.

Things are slowly starting to get back to normal as a few more racers are coming out and people are hoping that the masks will be a thing of the past in California VERY shortly!.... Thanks to Rich Curnutte for all the hard work and aggravation he has endured during this Covid mess with all the sanitizing and cleaning over the last year and for race directing and lastly thanks for all the donuts you provide for the racers on race day!

The next SCRRA Retro race at Piranha will be on the Flat track Saturday, June 12th and maybe by then we'll be able to put the masks away for good!  :)
