Man, I'm out of touch with how fast modern swoopy Kings are. 2.1 seconds for OMB is really hualin' arse.

And very impressive for the brushless setup.

On one of these tests someone needs to run the car in the gutter lanes. Not that it would be very informative on a swoopy King. I imagine some/most of them are full punch in every lane.

2.1 isn't fast enough?

I think faster will just lead to gear problems with the motor just bolted in and apparently not triangulated.

How many laps total did you run?

this is about pushing the limits to see what is possible, this is more fun than racing for me!

the bracket I'm using is "L" shape, very well soldered into the chassis (a little over weight and could be lighter), and also a lighter G27 chassis in the works

car was planted, so some hard tires are in order, sub 2sec possible

The bracket is triangulated.

But the motor is bolted into the bracket, and on only one plane.

Losing gears is probably the biggest problem with faster wing cars and you are just adding to it.

You didn't answer my question on how many laps you ran.

IOW, did you ever run 3 minutes straight?

I'm starting to think this is all BS. The testing procedures are so poor and incomplete that there's no reason to believe any of the claims. I mean what was the extent of Mike's tests, a knowledgeable racer. A photo of one lap time on yellow.

Maybe Mike's punking us. If so, I have to admit that's really good! You had me going. :good:

so I ran about 2.3s+, at piranha, on 13.8v with this setup 4500kv, about a week ago.

I have just assemble a 7500kv motor which will turn 100k rpm at 13.8v.

doing a rough calculation, the car should run in the 1.5s, will find out soon!

this is all RnD, don't know till u try,,, even if it blows,,, I have a box full of different motors to try,,, if I have to dynamic balance - I know someone that can do that if I have to.

I will tach it after track run, 2 see what rpm it runs.

If it runs that fast, will have someone run it in a proper omo car n race

How do you know how fast or slow it will go Phil? How many brushless cars do you own? How many laps did you turn with a brushless powered car?

Phil’s answer: I don’t know how fast it is, none, none.

Maybe Phil can ask Mack what the proper name for the rotor is for us? Wouldn’t want to call it something that it isn’t.

The rotors on Outrunner motors are computer spin balanced so there is no vibration in them, if there was it would throw the quad copter out of wack very fast and make it hard to fly.
