Not finish yet my 1/32 Strombecker Lotus Mk XIX
Next week i`ll give some final touches and put rear lights.
I will order too in Pattos Place a set of decals because the Strombecker has only the numbers and I need "Arciero Brothers."

Nice job Miguel !!!,...............I did one several years ago to repesent the car Stirling Moss drove at the Players 200 at Mosport in 1961.
Cheers
Chris Walker
PS....I do not have any handy chassis shots, but, it is a one piece brass pan with a Strombecker "Scuttler" motor bolted to the pan,....and,..a pin guide !!

Pretty good match for the UDT Laystall color, Chris.
Fred Cady had a decal sheet for Lotus race cars that included everything for the Arciero Bothers 19. I fear that if you can find one it will be no good now. They would be about 20 years old.

This body was in a lot from the auction site.
A brass chassis and Pattos decals later.
I ditched the Lotus decal and still need to paint the hood scoop silver and add a a windshield mirror. This is one of those “scrounge the workshop“ for parts builds. Headlights from artificial nails, fuel caps from brass screws and sheet styrene, etc. Lots of fun and it runs great with an 18K Predator FK 050.

Very nice, Mike.
That little scoop wasn't always silver. A snip from a picture of the car, see arrow;
It was taken in 2010. Most of the vintage photos I've seen show it red. My guess; it was added after the car was painted and left in aluminum finish, to be painted red later. But this shot taken during the car's Pacesetter sponsorship shows the scoop red. Both Chassis # 951

In the color pictures above (post #6) the upper shot looks more like a reflection than a scoop to me.

It is hard to see. If the scoop was silver, I think it would be more obvious. The bottom picture was taken after Daytona, when the car had Pacesetter sponsorship. The scoop was red by then. The Arciero Brothers were the team, not the sponsors.

Thanks, Flathead. Silver it is. The story about waiting to coast to the win when the 3 hour flag was waved is the reason I wanted to do this car. I enjoy building unusual cars or cars with interesting stories.

I have two of the 1/32nd Resilient Resins bodies. One I did as pre-little scoop Arciero Bros, and one I am going to do in Laystall colors. I am pretty sure the little scoop was added at Daytona or shortly before. Which would be why it was still bare aluminum in shots of the car taken at the Continental. It was pretty warm down there, and I can tell you from personal experience, that even in a car with a large open cockpit, your feet still get pretty toasty, being right next to the radiator. And Gurney's height put his even closer. Some cool air needed to be fed into the footbox.
P.S. I need this decal, if anyone has one to sell.
