Mark, you probably found Slotforum, an international slot car site. It's its own independent BBS, not associated with Slotblog. It's been around for years, about 20. The only older slot car board still running is OWH & it's been limping for awhile.
Slotforum was started in 2002, has1,200,000 posts, & 26,200 members, so it has size. Slotblog was started in 2006, has 576,094 posts & 5,730 members.

This thread reminds me of a time I replaced a fuseable link on riding mower. Smelted it.
If you don't mind me asking, what do you control the amps with ? Or did I miss that ?

Super interesting! Don't understand most of it, but I did get the "Mini Spot Welder" comment. I've used those before. Thanks!

Kevin, are you still chassis building since you posted the photos of your second build on here? That chassis was neatly constructed, Resistance soldering isn't something often used for slot car chassis building. It's more likely to be used for constructing brass train locomotives. I do know an individual who built a resistance solder machine to play with a few years back. I don't know if he ever got it all sorted out. He's same guy who put skis on his RC planes so he could fly them during the winter.
