Pablo, you've been a great inspiration to many of us and you will be truly missed.

But I totally get that sometimes ya just gotta shake things up so go enjoy whatever is your next endeavor in life!

Good luck to you and enjoy your racing, Pablo.

I've really enjoyed viewing your builds over the years. Sometimes people don't understand how time-consuming it could be cropping pictures making them down to size and posting them up here. Facebook is definitely quicker.

But there are times I've often recommended people from Facebook to check out the Slotblog for the in-depth information that is here.

Wow, WTF! I'm having a hard time understanding it all. First my favorite motor builder departs, and now my favorite builder. I'll find you on Facebook, but I'll visit a hell of a lot less. I just don't like that forum.

Thanks for all the helpful info, and seeing your builds always inspired me to pick up my iron. Really gonna miss your input here at the blog! Enjoy your latest move!

Yeah, sometimes we just need a break, change things up a bit. Been trap/skeet shooting the last few years. Liking that. And, once in a while, plug in the '64 Telecaster. Mix it up a bit.

It is. A sweet, serious player. Just noodle around in the house, no band or the like. Can't ever imagine parting with it.

Traded my earlier version for a Rickenbacker 370/12 ages ago. The finish on the Strat was peeling off, and I didn't get much for it. Now, players pay a premium for a Strat with peeling paint. Fender even makes them that way.

Sad to see you go, Pablo. But I don't get where being on Facebook precludes you from participating on Slotblog.

Spoke to Pablo at some length this morning and his decision seems to be largely driven by the number of racers who believe Facebook is the end-all and be-all of the slot racing universe. Now that he lives near a raceway and is able to race regularly for the first time in many years, he's found that his raceway owner is Facebook-centric (as are almost all raceway owners) and without being on Facebook he'll not be in the loop for race announcements, rule changes, and other info. He's also frustrated that most of the racers he meets never heard of Slotblog at all.

I agree with Pablo on the Facebook issue. I live within 50 minutes of two tracks and am happy I can still go run my cars once in a while but as far as competing I have no idea what the fish store is running or when. Having just a Facebook page might be great for the people that understand it but I'd like to be able to find some kind of schedule when I go looking for it like I can when I go to the website for the track down the street from Mickey's house.

As for Pablo not producing any more, I'm saddened but totally understand. When I found Slotblog and Pablo and the rest of the builders they really inspired me to play with these goodies again after about 55 years. I've even soldered up a chassis again ala one of Pablo's Iso features. I'm glad there will be a place I can come to to peruse the builds!

Greetings Pablo,

I'm saddened to know that you'll no longer have presence here on Slotblog, but at the same time, excited for your new hobby/venture.

I feel privileged and honored to have met/known you through Slotblog and would like to "thank you" for your support in my own humble scratchbuilds.

I too learned quite a few things from your builds.

I'll expect that you'll enjoy yourself even more and also enjoying spending time with your grandson - hope he'll be able to accompany you to your local track!

Be well, my slot car buddy!

Thank you.

Ernie

I wonder if Pablo has learned to read Facebook, yet. Lol

A translation with punctuation and missing words would be useful.  :)

All I meant by "Pablo's Builds is closed" is, I'm not posting any new build threads. Never said I was disappearing from the planet and I'm still working on slots every day.

Yes Mike, I'm aware FB has it's issues but I knew that going in. I'm learning it as I go. Deleting floral decoration and cat videos now takes up most of my day  :D

This is a self serving suggestion as I loved to see your build process.

I blame texting for the loss of spelling and syntax awareness. A highschooler wanted to ask one of the girls living across the street to be his date for prom. He posted a sign in front of their house. It read;

Ptn, pls B M dt for prm.   (it was supposed to say "Payton, please be my date for prom".)

My bellsouth.net email has been acting up lately, it drops my login and I have to change my password every day. Yesterday it was dropping several times during the day.

If you need to find me, my other email is:

Pablissimo55@gmail.com

It seems to work fine and I may be switching completely over to it real soon.

Sheesh, I thought posting outside of "Pablo's Builds" would at least minimize the micromanagement and I hoped being treated like a 10 year old would stop.

It actually did, for a while. But it keeps coming back. I'm not the only one. I see posters doing the same thing to dc-65x all the time.
