Fastraxxx Slot Car Club has been formed at the old Fastraxxx location in Fremont, OH. 

 

Location is: Fastraxxx Slot Car Club, 2201 Commerce Drive, Fremont, OH 43420. Track is only 3 miles from the Ohio Turnpike exit 91. Motels and food are nearby.

 

Track is a 135 ft LTD layout. Track power will be a 90-amp Bulldog at the 13.6 setting and possibly a second 12v supply.

 

Current plan is to race twice a month on the first and third Saturdays of the month, taking the summers off.

 

On one weekend we will be running USRA JRL, USRA GT12, and ISRA 24 Production.

On the other weekend classes are still being finalized.

 

Annual memberships will be available but have not been finalized at this time.

 

This is a club track. It will be available for other racing series that are interested in using the facility.

Fastraxxx Slot Car Club will hold our first open track day Saturday October 15'th located at 2201 Commerce Drive, Fremont, OH 43420.  Time will be 8AM to 1PM.  Everyone welcome. 

Parts are limited but we have most things that will keep you on track.  Track time is $10.

 

1/32 clearance with nothing hanging below the chassis.

 

Racing will be the first and third Saturday of the month.  Contact for series racing availability. 

 

Classes are JK Wide Body Indy cars, Production 24, and a third class still working on.  Rules to follow. 

 

We will have another practice day October 29^th,, planning an enduro the following Saturday November 5th.

The Enduro class will be Production 24.  Chassis is Aeolos C26 / C43, Mid American Eagle motor, Mid America Audi DTM body #963, no weighted guides.  Still working out details.

• Clearance .032 under rear axle uprights, NOTHING hangs below the chassis including tape, solder, gear.
• Max width 83mm / 3.268 all 1/24 classes.
• No weighted guides in the “lite” classes.
• No metal gears allowed.

JK Stock wide body Indy car;  PN 08B2B (_ _ _ depends on custom paint job), OK to solder in rear oilites & motor. Cut down JK flat nose guide allowed.  Rear wing can have a small .032 max wire brace to help support wing and reduce body being sucked in. Rear wing height 1.625 max.  Everything else stock including body clips, rear axle height from bottom of chassis to top of axle .340 min/.360 max, floating front axle with locked front wheels .370 wide x .760 dia, 64P gears 11/37.  JK # M7 & motor (no BB motors), Lasered 77777 on top.

Open Practice Saturday October 29th and November 5th 8AM to 1 PM.  A Production lite enduro has been pushed back to November 19th.  

 

Please PM me to add your name to the enduro list.  If we get enough people / teams it can be a team enduro or we will shorten it if it's going to be a 1 man enduro.

ENTRY FEE; $60 per teams covers race day track time, 1 motor and 2 pair of tires.  If we don’t get enough teams signed up. We will run an individual 2 hour Enduro at $35 entry fee and 1 set of tires.

 

RACE;  Two 2 hour rounds with 15 minute lanes.  90 second lane changes.  All work on car done under green  except between rounds where 15 minutes will be given. Lunch break for 1 hr. 

 

SCHEDULE; Friday November 18^th track open from 4-9 PM.

Saturday November 19^th doors open at 8 AM.  Parts handed out by 8:30 AM.

Practice ends at 10:30 AM.

Tech opens at 10:30 AM.

Race starts at 11:00 AM.

Lunch after first segment 1 hour.

15 minutes to work on car.

Second leg starts about 2:15 PM.

The new Fastraxxx Slot Car Club held its first event Saturday November 19th 2022 on the Jerry Wyant designed LTD.  The class was A Production Lite.  Rules are posted at Slotblog in the Fastraxxx Slot Car Club thread.  They are very similar to the Midwest Flat Track Series Enduro rules.   We ended up with five 2 man teams, running 10 minute lanes with two rounds.  The race started at 11:00 and even with an hour lunch we were done at 3:40. 

 

The first glitch is with a warm fall the heating was not up to par but that is being addressed.  The second glitch appeared in the start of the second heat.  Being the first race held the computer was not set up for European lane rotation.  We had printed everything out so we reset the computer and ran an additional 7 lanes.  We took 45 minutes for lunch and had 15 minutes to work on the cars & restarted right after that.  There were the usual wall shots, crushed bodies but overall but everyone seemed to have a good time & want to come back.  We also had some help from Chris Earnhart, Elmo Valance and John Humberger race directed and a few other racers are gathering parts and stopped by to check out the new track. 

 

 When the race was over the results were tallied.

Mike & Ben ran a good race & did well staying out of trouble.  Brian and Jessie put in solid performance throughout the race running consistent laps.  Rob and John ran well but rider'ed into the wall and knocked the motor out in the first lane & bent the chassis.   Bob & Bob started out strong but had some body issues and knocked the motor brace out of the car.  Ron & Sam had early body issues and later braid issues but soldiered on to the end. 

 

Like to thank everyone for coming & keeping a good attitude throughout the event.  Hope everyone made it home safely. 

 

We will be racing the first and third Saturdays of the month.  Stock JK Wide body Indy Cars & A Production lite.  We are also planning on another enduro after the first of the year.

TRACK; LTD

The first regular race was held at Fastraxxx Slot Car Club.  The classes are stock JK Wide Body Indy cars & A Production lite.  After the idiot messed up the timing program again……… we were able to run more than 3 seconds long heats.  FYI 3:00 is 3 minute heats, 3 is 3 seconds.  Yea I’m a genius!  There were 7 racers in the Indy car class and the results were fairly close.  Ron Vincek won with a borrowed ride from second place Mike Lear.

Next up was A Production lite.  With the computer sorted the race ran without a hitch.  Chris Earnhart running a borrowed ride because he didn’t get his car finished.  Ron Vincek won running a great race.

I would like to thank everyone for coming out.  Light rain made it a great day to race slot cars.  Our classes seem to be fast enough to be fun but still affordable.  Small tweaks and changes like working on computer setup will be happening. 

 

We are also working on a team enduro in mid January.

 

The next race is scheduled for 17 December 2022.   We race the first and third Saturdays of the month.  2 classes for now.  Trying to get everyone on their way before 1 PM is the goal.   I hope a few more are able to attend the next race and we are off on our new club adventure.  Ask any questions or send a PM for more info.  Also on FB.
