I'm kind of a sucker for Dynamic cars. They seem to run pretty good and are fun to tinker on. Anytime I can get one for a good price, I try to buy it.

This one's a good runner.

I drove really far to buy this for like $25. About how I bought it except wheels and tires.

Left as purchased. Rare occasion for me to get a vintage car this nice. Just had to size guide height and clean. Haven't test drove yet.

The first Dynamic chassis I bought over ten years ago probably. Not much is left of how I got it beside guide tongue and weights.

Latest buy. Trying to figure out how to mount a body to this.

Cool endbell and arm conversion.

Those are cool, Mark. I have a soft spot for Dynamic cars myself. It may well be because the first good-handling car I bought (1967) was a the Dynamic Ferrari P3 kit in the clear plastic box.

BTW it used the same brass mounts as on the inline chassis. The Renegade mount is an option also.

Tried those body mounts. I think the motor is too far forward, the body mounts hit the motor holddown. Maybe if I re-geared and pulled the motor back they would fit.

That's strange, does the motor mount look the same as the Renegade? It was designed to work with those mounts.

Maybe you can still use those threaded holes and make a custom mount. More brass low makes for a better-handling chassis.

Maybe the Dynamic brass pans will fit.  :)

it was just the motor adjusted too far forward. i dont have much selection of sidewinder gears so that one might get the back burner for a while.

In the mid-'60s, you had to be a fairly competent scratchbuilder to build something quicker than a Dynamic center section with some pans bolted on, and this type of build stayed competitive (particularly on the 1/32 club tracks) for several years.

Most of mine have long since gone... with just a couple of my favourites remaining.

Cheers,

We had a vintage stock car class for awhile some time ago. The main rule was you had to use a Dynamic motor mount.

This was what I came up with.

More brass, more better.  :)

Another Dynamic fan. I have several chassis, many new in the package. No cars though! I have tons of parts but very few cars. There's something wrong with my collecting strategy!

Here is another chassis below with the GE motor, using all Dynamic parts.

The one with Dyna Rewind hinges from the drop arm pivot, sort of plumber style. The screws just ahead of the motor bottom out on set screws to allow some float. Notice the set screws from below.

Sano cars, fellas! Wouldn't mind setting up one of mine more later '60s style with a handling body.

NSwanberg, not to mention "Handling Bodies" . I finally broke down and paid the shot for a Alfa T-33 only to find out that
1) wrong box
2) no decals
3) no interior
I should have known better than to buy one from (that part of) Italy 😐. The loss of opportunity pales to the loss of money. At least I got it cheeper than one of the two that have come up in the past three years. Ya never know what might come tomorrow. Or not 🤣.
Angry Mark, nice collection. Word of advice, listen to Martin (AKA Mr. Dynamic)when it comes to these cars.

Now we could 3D print all the parts.

In Aluminum? While I have seen parts printed in nickel-steel alloy, I've never seen anyone using Aluminum.

Interesting thought, molds can be printed for sand cast parts.

Why even think about repo parts :wacko2: makes no sense to me. There are so many Dynamic cars and parts still for sale. Must be plenty of original parts for everyone that wants some.

Because "everyone" wants to build with mini can motors.

By the way beautiful stuff, I wish I had used it back in the day.

Now that make some sence Bob.

Larry did 3D print  the small hook that holds down the side winder motor and can be hard to find.

P.S. Now available from Shapeways BTW thanks to Larry.

I will have to ask Larry on how to find this part. I did a search, but could not find it.

But I did find plenty of motor mounts along the line of what you mentioned.

Maybe the smart money would be an printed plastic motor adapter, to fit the Mini can motors to the original aluminum Dynamic motor mounts?

Any takers?

My first ever 1/24th scale slot car was a Dynamic Porsche 908.  Still have it and the box.
But, this is my favorite I ever built myself.
Motor wound and built by John Havlicek.

2v2v5oDQjxubMLY.jpg

It features all Dynamic parts including the wheels, sloppy sam body mounts and a custom painted Dynamic body.
I even added the Dynamic roller bearings for the rear axle.

I'll second that ... that Porsche is gorgeous Jairus! While I love the velocity stacks on the 906 you did for me, I also love that this one has the vintage motor on full display in the back picture window.
