Allan, 100% correct.
Champion produced the bloated version of the Lola in 1/24 scale, after the Mecom modifs and a change of engine brand! It was Champion's first slot car after they began by producing an aluminum channel chassis, aluminum wheels with molded-on silicone mix tires and rewound and balanced Mabuchi FT36D motors. It sold in huge numbers, but most were utterly abused over time, meaning that intact originals are not commonly found today.

Did that car have the donut-magnet motor? Or the Bonner style motor?

I have a 1/32 Dubro Porsche 917 bought at Modelville Hobby when I worked there in 1973. It was the first & only 1/32 body I bought then.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Should we have 1/24 in this thread or, in a 1/24 thread. I had planned on starting one last night but, my package from PCH came in and.... .

Betta of England has a great selection of vintage-style vac formed bodies in 1/32 and 1/24. Shipping isn't horrible due to the light weight of the packages.
Available in various thicknesses of clear polycarbonate or white plasticard; check on their website for details.

Years ago, I was able to get 1/32 Betta bodies from a raceway in Las Vegas. My last home raceway got Betta 1/32 F-1 bodies from REHCO. I doubt there is a US source today.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.
