Don't worry Ray, my chassis are right up to SNUFF. Testing has been a blast with postive results. ;) We just have to get more drivers with cars for the first race. I may just put up a date soon for Trains & Lanes and whatever racers show up will race for the cup! :roflmao:

Hi, John,

Rob K. and I are racers from NJ132, and along with Pete from The Race Place Vintage Club, as well as some others I can talk into joining, we would be interested in racing with you. I would also guess that others from the Vintage Club may want to join in, too. As may some other NJ132 racers, as they have dabbled in new and vintage 1/24 cars.

Let Rob and I know whenever you want to do something at The Race Place or Trains & Lanes. Sorry, but there are no pix from the upstairs track at TRP, but it is called Red Lightning. I will post pix when I get the Yahoo group for the Vintage Club up and running . . . our photographer and fellow racer (Carl) is still under the weather . . .

Best,

Man, that track looks like a builder/driver's track. Fighting for the win on that track would be insane. . :)

Pretty rare having the drivers stations on a curve. Looks like a fun track!

Yeah well if this was the OLD DAYS when we were serious---people at that drivers stations would have to wear cups! :roflmao: :roflmao: :naughty:

He-he. :)

This is the upstairs track where we meet for C.A.R.S.

You can't see it in the picture but black and purple have alternate stations on the other side by the windows - there's a tendency for cars on black/purple to fly off on the bank after the straightaway so they put the two alternate stations there so you can time it better. LOL.

One guy got a car out the right-most window sometime back in '99. Landed in someone's truck bed, I reckon!

I ran in a CASRA "A Production" race on this track a few years ago. Falcons would be quite a change from an X12. Might still neeed a 7 tooth pinion though, even with a Falcon.
Hey, Team Nutley, let's get the party goin' on this track. :!:

But then there is this 150-ft American Red hillclimb that we could hold the inaugural Div III NE Race on.

We run a Falcon class there every Friday. 4.7 to 5.0 sec lap times.

First Retro Can-Am will hopefully be at Zeppelin Raceway in Riverdale, NJ, sometime in January 2007; no date yet. The time to beat for the Retro Can-Ams so far is 4.70. So adjust your rigs and tune your jets.

Let's try and shoot for Jan 21 or 22. Saturday might be better. Depends what Charlie or Lou would like us to do.

Our hillclimb in River Oaks, TX, is VERY like that blue one. MY PB (personal best) is a 4.96; I have work to do!

Any new developments with Zeppelin? I know they have not hosted much more than a Charity race there in recent years. I spoke with Dom this past Friday and he more than welcomes this program at his place in Cream Ridge, NJ. Additionally, Mark at Keystone is ready for us. Let's get this going.

I was at Zeps yesterday and Charlie is definitely interested. As John Gorski posted previously, we're looking at the last 2 weekends in January. FYI Zeps will be moving further down the road into Wayne since the current landlord wanted to raise the rent to some absurd number. At least they have chosen to stay in business!

Are any of the raceways in the area carrying building supplies, like motor brackets and bodies?

Fred, if they are not, you can get everything from Buena Park with a simple phone call to Chris: brackets, motors, gears, wheels, guides, bodies, even complete ready-to-use chassis by Mike Steube and John Kallas! . . . (714) 827- 9979 :)
