Hi Guys
here are the first Thingies I received for the proxy race that will start in Zürick next week end:

Posted Image

You can see why I am already panicking with the thought of them being ruined in the races!
More will arrive directly in Zürick so you will have to wait til next week.
Kind regards
Edo

I'd panic at the thought of sending them back to their owners.
Beautiful cars, for sure!

  It is highly unlikely that I'll be sending anything this year for the Proxy race. I would really have liked to, but I just got too far behind at my "Real Jobs" after takin care of my Dad down in FL.
I had a really cool "Secret Weapon" that I wuz preparing but i just havent had time to complete it. NEXT YEAR 4 SURE.
Hmmm wonder if I have enuff time to send the "TranTula" (doubt if it'll stay on a plastic trak!! :? )

That "Blue Emerald" looks very much like it was once part of the packaging of a computer mouse. True or false, Don?

Ah Tom, I should keep the mystery...

Nah, what the heck, here's the scoop: I found this chassis in an old 1/32 car on ebay, under a vac-formed Chappy body... It sat in my drawer for many years, slowly aging to a golden hue... whoops, no, that's the wine cellar, sorry!

A couple months ago, a friend here showed me a paint sample he received in the form of these strange shapes, in Lexan I would guess. I immediately claimed one for my Thingie, and going through the drawers I found this chassis and Eureka! The chassis was pretty well-built in the first place, but with a lot of weak points that I tried to reinforce - and of course that's a patented DGERSH tilt body system, cross hinged on either side of the body, so it will tilt a bit and even accordeon straight up in the right kind of crash! It originally had two body-mount tubes soldered across the top of the chassis, which I bent and then installed hinges on, etc.

I put in the little hoop skirt too, as a way of reinforcing the body mounts and because it seemed like a good idea at the time (see earlier reference to stuff that used to be in the wine cellar).

I don't really think this will hold up too long to the vigors of racing, but should be fun while it lasts!

Ever since my Russkit 4WD ran so well at Bordo last year, I've been a great fan of this system (and I always liked it anyway, just cause it's complicated)!

  OK I've seen enough!! and I gotta send somthing!
Even tho I didn't have time to properly prepare I'm sending the Trantula! I've included a homade set of silicones for the rear if U wouldn't mind installing them Edo. I think she has too much grunt for the plastic tracks but we'll see.
mebbe U can take some better pics of her
as well.

YES Tom!
Actually silicones are not allowed on some of the tracks so I will put Ortmann's on good hubs ( perhaps Arodyn's) for it.
It will miss the first race this week end but it might gather enough point in Concours and/or the rest of the races to be a contender.
Beside I will take good pics thus providing you honor and glory ad eternaem!
Best regards

I hope US Post uses the X15 as your package carrier because I'll be leaving on Friday at 12 for Zürick. Mind you, the mailman arrives early in the morning so it's either there or not by then. But have no fear the Tarantula will be able to express itself on other tracks!
Thanks!
E.
PS Tom, shall I send it back after the races or shall I keep it in a safe for when you come to learn the Italian anthem ? ;)

  I fear that she will be like Bodie Miller, so fast and outta control that she leaves the race course in the air backwards whilst doing accrobatic flips twists and such!! or just plain party too much and burn up early or WINN!!  !!!
(send her back when she's done...U can NOT keep her

my concern is not to have the cars damaged, all of them! We will treat them as our own cars, I will make sure of it!
