Does the above info still apply with the board updates? I'm having some difficulty. The titled link just turns black and does not actually link to anything.

Yes, it all still applies.

Please point me to the post you're having trouble with and I'll assist. If you haven't made it yet, do that even with the error.

With the previous IP.Board version... didn't the chain icon click have a place to enter the title? Not there now.

So whata ya gotta do now?

I had not noticed that, as I just enter the raw code...

We're in TN at the Shootout race so I probably won't be able to research this until I get back to GA. When I can look into it, I'll let you know what I find out.

Sorry to have forgotten to follow up on this. IPS has definitely made a change and I can't see where there is a way to make the titled link as before.

I'll post on the IPS forum tonight to see if there's a way to do it.

Greg,

I would like to know how to make a titled link, too.

I have tried using the info from this thread, and searched the Internet too, but I have not been successful yet.

I'm running Windows 7 and browse with Mozilla Firefox.

Is there a newbie tutorial I can follow somewhere online?

..but...

It's 2012 and a half. Why does it have to be so complicated.
In 2011 and a quarter I could do it because the chain link button had a place in the drop down to type the the title and a place to put (paste) the link.

OK, IPS Support has replied and as I suspected, there's a new process to making these titled links. It's actually a bit of an improvement on the old method.

To make a titled link to, say, Slotblog, first type the word "Slotblog" in your post and then double-click on the word to select it (or drag over a phrase to select the phrase as your title).

Once your "title" word or phrase is selected, then click on the chain "link" icon in the post's icon bar just above the text block and type or paste the URL for the link into the URL field. Click OK and you're done.

Thunking about it... this is a better method then any previous methods. Spell check can be used for the title with this version. :clapping:
