And all Noose wants to do is just be beautiful, not obsessed!

Ahh, but obsession is what makes me want to make them beautiful!

Hey, Joe, been meanin' to ask...

JD F1s are pretty narrow. How ARE you able to get the spray gun in there to paint them?

Very carefully and at low pressure. Light coats and just build them up. They are PETG and I use lacquer so you can't go heavy.

Make that "Gold Leaf Team Lotus" and 1968, starting with the 49T in the Tasman series.

Dennis, you should feel ashamed of yourself! :)

The Gunston Cigarette Company of Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, first introduced tobacco sponsorship to Formula 1 when they sponsored Rhodesian drivers John Love and Sam Tingle for the 1968 SA National Championship series.

The first time Formula One cars appeared in a Grand Prix with cigarette sponsorship was the 1968 South African Grand Prix, where both John Love's Brabham BT20–Repco and Sam Tingle's LDS Mk3B wore Gunston livery.

The next race of the 1968 F1 World Championship was the Spanish Grand Prix, the first time that Team Lotus cars entered a Grand Prix in Gold Leaf cigarette livery, although their cars had appeared in Gold Leaf colours during the 1968 Tasman Series, held after the SAGP, where Jim Clark and Graham Hill drove Lotus 49T's in Gold Leaf Team Lotus livery mid way through the series.

Stunning work, Noose!

Kind regards,

Russell

Russ,

I was correcting PdL's posting about Team Lotus, not commenting on who was first, but I had of course forgotten about the Team Gunston cars, so I too stand corrected...

What took you so long? LOL. Now the decision for you is whether to have the Brabhman Repco done for Jail Door GP or hmmm... say one of the new Lotus 43s for IRRA F1.
