This is a special one that Mr. Frank had me do in remembrance of his close friend Bear...[/quote/
WOW! That is neat!! Bear loved orange; everything he had was orange.

Noose, you did a great job. One of these day I'll have to get one of your works of art on a body cause I can't win one. :laugh2:

Cheers,

Jerry :)

I took a quick shot of this to send to the "Duffmeister" last night but will take more if it tonight. Here's Duffy's new McLaren.

By any chance would that fit a Jail Door chassis?

It could but not the one you have now. You would have to make a narrower, shorter one.

Hi Duffy,

"A mans got to know his limitations". Mine is painting like the pros. I try to paint but... I have more fun doing the mechanical stuff and letting the true artists like Noose do the crowning touch, the body.

I AM NOT WORTHY!!!

Duffy, you do deserve it. You had the balls to make a chassis to fit the width of the body, not the max width of "the rules". You receive "10 bonus points" to use in any future "Lost Cause" endeavors :) .

Beautiful work, Noose  .

Noose, what does this title mean?

Noose paints again... after ? years

It made me wonder how this title came up.

First, I added another pic of the Duffmeister's McLaren to the post above.

Nesta, the title came about because I couldn't remember how long it had been since I painted bodies, etc., since I got back into it just about four years ago.

Well... I did dabble a bit in '77 and '78 but not much.

Soo... it was probably close to 30 years before I painted again.

Hi

By coincidence, there is a collector I know in Denver named Mathews who has a large collection of McLarens. Nice guy, got rich making automated car washes. Anyway, he is selling the first customer car version of this McLaren which raced in Gold with a white stripe.

At the time Steve Burkey was working for him, Steve was the guiding light of Denver area racing during the "dark ages" by keeping a small club running and eventually established the local clubs.

It amused him to see our collections. And.. it was fun to be all geeky with the guy about colors and such. But his collection of real cars is bigger than most peoples slot car collections.

Yes, his name is Steve. :laugh2: He previously bought a Jail Door Lotus 40 in this color scheme and liked it. So he wanted them all the same.

Here they are individually.
