Not arguing the fact that you are different, Noose! :)

But are the roof numbers wrong?? I think not!

Before computer scoring it was all done by hand back in the day, when racing an oval the numbers would be facing properly to the flag man. As the scorekeepers where high above the flagman.

I watched a woman score 24 cars on dirt all at the same time, from high above in a press box behind the flagman.

Is he different or is he wrong?? It's anybody's call! :)

Just curious, why are all the roof numbers facing the wrong direction?

Most of the short tracks around us as well as the World of Outlaws and Super Late Series run the roof numbers towards the passenger side for the scorers and fans. I may be wrong, but I believe the Sprint (formerly Winston) Series rotated the roof numbers for photo purposes while on the banking. Since the big boys use transponders, manual scoring is not as critical.

GREAT looking Stockers there, Noose!

In some racing the numbers face the fans and in others it faces the scoring tower.

As for being wrong in this class of slot racing, it's not and has the required three numbers. AND... the car will be going in a direction by the driver's panel where it will be facing me. LOL.

Uh... if you look at my very first post in this thread I did. Taylor Made, black, yellow, and red. Was one of the first bodies I painted when I came back.

Rapid Rick Raducha cashed in a voucher he won from me for an interior. He gave me one of Durl's paper ones to use as a sample and here is his finished one.

The honorable Sir John Dilworth sent me this beautiful Ford68P to do for him along with picture. This is one very cool body of a car that was run in 1968 although unsuccessfully.

PDL loves to give me a challenge and this time he sends me this old, yellowed body that has decals in it and even traces of someone attempting to start to paint it and says make it work. Now many of you remember Oscar Kovaleski and Auto World, his Cannon Ball Run and his Can-Am McLaren. Before that he had this cute Finned Ferrrari. The theme to it was based on thew old TV show "Car 54 Where Are You". C'mon..you remember it right?

There's a holdup in the Bronx,
Brooklyn's broken out in fights;
There's a traffic jam in Harlem
That's backed up to Jackson Heights;
There's a scout troop short a child,
Krushchev's due at Idlewild!
Car 54, Where Are You??

PDL sent me some old photos but they weren't totally clear. We confirmed with Oscar that the lettering onthe fin did indeed read "Driver: Gunther Toody" who in reality was one of the characters on the show. It was officers Toody and Muldoon in the famous Car 54.

So here is the body with the photos I had and then just the body.

Amusing that the external links function in copy&paste, tho' I'm surprised that Wiki had no references for Kruschev or Idlewild.
