Rocky is being beleagured by jealous cretins who are trying to Dumb Him Down through draconian legislation. He suffers that every Saturday.
Then, instead of just reasonably shooting them all down in the street, he comes over here and takes out his frustration on US. Thus do we help avoid an incident that would otherwise take up maybe twenty minutes' air time on Fox News.
We're real Public Benefactors, we are.

when I urge killing motor rules or doing "retro" with actual retro motors.
You going to supply us with the motors? I know I don't have any of that old junk. Or do you suggest that one surf ebay hoping that a donor comes up and ALL the retro racers don't bid on it so it can be obtained at a resonable price? Even then add another $40 bucks to have an arm blank wound by Pro-Slot so one doesn't have some statically balanced grenade from some hack.
Oh I can see it's definetly the way to go

As far as magazines go, if I like it I buy it. If I don't like it I don't buy it. The market will speak I believe.
So, I will PM Greg Wells and ask that he please move my tiny piece of Slotblog from the Scratchbuilding section to the 1/24 Scale Vintage section where I believe what I build belongs. I hope this will end any "Retro" conflicts in my threads.

Rick, your wonderful work belongs anywhere it seems like it oughtta go and these little side trips into never-never land shouldn't be the deciding factor. If your stuff can't live happily in a forum named..."scratchbuilding", then there's really something weird going on here. In any case, Greg has always shown he can handle this stuff with grace and fairness.

Rob has suggested I split a few of the recent posts here into a new topic and I agree, but it will probably be later this evening before I can make it happen.
FWIW, we were in the Smoky Mountains over the holiday sans internet access and cellphone coverage. I'm playing catch-up today...

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

OH! If I had only one tooth, I'd be offended!FWIW, we were in the Smoky Mountains over the holiday sans internet access and cellphone coverage. I'm playing catch-up today...
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

GOOD NEWS!.........for me . My friend and artist Jairus Watson has agreed to turn his talents loose on my Iso Grifo. WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can start building another car .
First I had to get some details on the interior made up before paint. I ditched the plastic Russkit gas cap. It is very nice but I wanted to make one up like we did in the day:
A little soldering:
A little cutting, filing and polishing:
And we have an old school gas cap. It doesn't look super scale realistic. It does look like it belongs on a 1966 scratch built slot car as I remember them .
Here's a shift lever, knob and boot made from a wheel retainer, pin and pin tube:
A roll bar from aluminum rod and a wire wheel from a model kit and it's ready for paint:
I'll "ZOOM" it your way tomorrow Jairus and THANKS!
The above is where the slot car project left off. Here is the interior after Jairus worked his magic and I assembled all the bits:
I asked Jairus to use this car for "inspiration" to paint mine:
I used this picture to make sure that at least one car raced with wire wheels that I wanted to use. The 42 car might also have wire wheels but I'm not sure:
Here the finished Jairus Watson paint job:
Thanks for following along.........Onward!

In this bright future you can't forget your past.
BMW (Bob Marley and the Wailers)
United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.
Pistol Pete you will always be in my memory.

....twin motor 4WD. It's a ball to drive and I encourage all you scratch builders to give one a try. It rates a 10 on the fun factor. It will always be in my box when I go to Eddie's.
