Bryan,
Thanks for your input and the info on the attempts out west to revive the class. For right now we'll try to go with what's already out there and see what happens.

It's strange that you guys did not like the handling of the JD sports cars. We seem to have no problem geting them to handle great and they will spin out before deslotting. I have found if they walk out of the slot the front tires are too soft. They need the hard ones.

It would be cool to organize something like a monthly race at Chicagoland. Many of the racers that show up on the regular race
nights have jaildoor cars in their boxes. I always bring a few to just play with. We just haven't been able to get anything organized.

Fellas,
Depending on the responses, I'm looking at sometime in March for a Jail Door event at The Race Place in Farmingdale New Jersey.

Pete:
I have chassis, bodies etc for 1 GP car and 1 sports car if anyone wants to use them. I'll be at the Race Place for the Retro East race early March if anyone would like to borrow them I can hand them off at that time. The rear tires for sure need replacing LOL

Fellas,
We'll schedule the Jail Door event for Saturday March 9th at The Race Place in Farmingdale NJ. Details to follow...
John,
Andy Holman and Joe Emm have agreed to run the event. They would be more than happy to race the cars that you mentioned in the above post. Of course you are invited as well as any other racer that have Jail Door cars.
We hope to have a JD Sports car race as well as a JD Gran Prix race the same day.

Fellas,
I'll try to get to The Race Place tonight or tomorrow night to try my Jail Door cars on their newest track. My cars haven't seen competition in years...maybe I'll catch up with some other potential JD racers ?

How long is the track?
It's a typical hillclimb. I drove it last week and drives nice, I put a 7/30 gear on my GP with the new MB motor and it works well.

Fellas,
A good turnout for our initial "Jail Door" event at The Race Place. Several "top guns" from the region went up against some of the best TRP has to offer. We'll have the "official"" run down tomorrow along with some pics of the action, stay tuned !

Fellas,
Results from our first Jail Door event, we'll call the "Winter Run"... first race was the GP event with seven cars coming to the line. With several JD GP "rookies" in the field it proved to be an exciting event.
First place went to Matt Bruce
Second went to Mike Katz
Third to "rookie" Andy Holman
Third place finisher Andy Holman was driving the John Streisguth Spl. for the first time this weekend, which was on loan from John !

The second Jail Door event saw seven entries as well. When the dust settled it was two familiar faces in the winner's circle only in different finishing positions. This time it was Mike Katz in for the win with Mat Bruce a close second and JD "rookie" Joe Emm in third.
We'd like to thank everyone who came out to support the Jail Door events and a special thanks to The Race Place for hosting the races. We also want to send out a thanks for Oliver for loaning some of his Jail Door cars to the Race Place Rookies.
We hope to have another two race event in the coming months that we'll call the "Spring Run". We'll keep everyone posted here on Slotblog as to where and when it will be held.
