Thanks to Uncle Fred for posting the photos.
I see the workmanship of many other builders and drivers on Slotblog and I am very impressed as well.

Thank you Bob. Humbling to view such masters. This guy is a pretty complete package. Engineer, fabricator and driver? Wow! NOW I'm impressed.

Besides the sexy vintage Ferrari 330 P3, this chassis is a very close second best ever slot item?

The car in post #29. Is that construction still used in F1 today. Yes, I don't road race but love the car. Anyway if so...is there something it's called or class to identify with?

Marty,
The chassis looks similar to Jail Door Grand Prix. Just has a solid drop arm instead of one built up from brass rod.

In IRRA Retro East they try to get a Jail Door race in if time allows. Always Sports Car though since more guys own them.
Build it and they will come. If you stick to the posted build rules there is more of a chance of getting enough racers for a race.

I don't know if you know this Sam but I don't turn left, or right. Drag racer. Just love the builds. Have a Vdub I thought might be able to use this type of chassis. Then again I like F1 and Indy.

Bruce, I'm due to reach out to Roy and will ask him. He got back into racing for a brief while running Flexi's at Eddies but stopped after the brutal SF traffic got the best of him. I'm sure he would donate his historic chassis........actually when I visited him he offered me ALL of them!

I hope to be able to see his chassis which had such impact on me viewing such workmanship by a youngster gave me a high bar to strive to,that youngsters such as myself can achieve like that (not just adults), (and I hope to recreate that chassis as a symbol for myself).I and the rest of us old timers appreciate your effort in reaching out to Roy and reconnecting Roy to his roots and all of us,thanks again,Fred ( we anxiously await photos, and or donation at ions to the museum where they can always be viewed).G D BLESS.
