Noose,

I stated before that the track owner decides the format...

I agree that if you don't like it... don't come. :)

My only question revolves around the 'amount' of time it will take. But, I agree... it is what it is.

Not sure I totally comprehend how the 'new' format protects you from getting 'wiped out'?
A 'one-lap wonder' could still take you out in your heat. How does one race back from that?

And, I can hear the grumbling now when one of the 'riff-raff' makes the semi's for winning the G Main, knocking one of the elite out because his lap total didn't make the cut.

Doesn't matter to me. I'm coming. I'll have a good time regardless of the format.

Hey Larry... say we have 70 entries for Can-Am and we get done at 8 PM on Sunday night... how is that any different than a Penn-Ohio with 90 entries getting done at 8 PM on a Sat night or a ORS race with 80 entries getting done at 8 PM?

Other than the day/night... what the difference???

Let's say the two Semis are getting ready to start at 5 to 6 PM... I am sure many racers who don't move up into the semis will pack it in and head home... the only ones affected are the 16 guys in the semi and I am certain any of those guys could really care less what time they get done on Sunday night. ;)

Oh, that's going to happen... the format has been posted for sometime now and I think most have figured that out by now?

It will be exciting for sure in F1 and Can-Am.

One would have to look at the history of the racing at TT in the ORS and the previous R4s to determine the odds of someone really turning that super lap to be up there. I know we haven't seen it in four years of racing here. In most cases if you were to look at the top 12 racers at the event, you find that it is the same guys just sorted out a bit differently because of the track or the particular class. Even guys like Matt and Jay make B Mains and race their way into the move-ups for the A. Hell, Ed Sohl did it twice in one day for a total of a 1,600 lap day.

My point is, and as Mike has pointed out, it does seed the majority of the guys properly and does make for better racing.

Will you give the cars back so folks can leave?

8:00 would be GREAT...

Hope it works out.

If it doesn't, oh well...

Actually YES. The only impounded cars at that point will be the sixteen left to run the semis. Those cars will be held until the A Main is over.

Parking? For those of us who haven't been to the R4 in years or are new, where do we park if the lot is full?

Once we are full then the "All Foreign Auto Parts" lot to the north can be used. PLEASE do not block any of their entry doors or exit lanes. On Friday they close at 5:00pm so before that we need to be careful were you park. Through the rest of the weekend the lot is basically ours but still DO NOT block their entry doors.
