I told Marvin that Ray Bradbury died.

He said "I didn't like that earthling invasion story anyway"

Marvin came back today.

I heard some giggling coming from the box and when I opened Marvin was cracking up. :sarcastic_hand:
The next thing I noticed was he looked a little green :bad: from the long trip :D

A nice note from Jairus and I love the Decal ! :victory:

Barn, thanks for putting that link up.
That was such a GREAT day. Geez...that year went fast. :shok:
"No disrespect" to any other race directors but Barney wins the "Best Race Director" category hands down with a little help from his friends who know a thing or two about slot cars. :D
That was a hard act to follow. :dance3: :dance3:

Way to go Barney, :good:

If I had known that was the plan, I'd have kept it in my collection.

I also don't think she should be broken up John, she is a beaut. Body and chassis both.

Aculeus & Scorpion present and accounted for today, sporting some very dull and well used stingers but, none the less in good shape, considering the long journey.
Thanks Again Jairus, and for the cooool stickers!

You know... anyone with a little time and a calculator can figure the exact miles these cars have rolled. That's why I added the foot lengths to the tracks in the track pics. As for flown miles, I would guess about 28000 miles zig zagging around the planet.

Jairus, Titanic arrive today safe and sound. Thanks for the kind words. Actually does not look too bad ! Got a heavy whiff of oil and tire juice when I opened the box :heat: Just a testament to all the people that kept my car lubed and tried to get my rear tires to stick :laugh2: A great experience that had it's ups and downs. Thanks

Marvin get the chance to take 6 "right out of the box " laps back on the ole home track.

It ran 9.20 sec. laps..... :laugh2: the same lap times as in testing before it left on the world challange tour. :D

Jairus,

Blacklight arrived this morning with a nice little note. Thanks. She isn't in too bad a shape considering what she's been through. Many thanks for getting her back to me.

Now the question is, do I retire her as is, sporting her damage or do I set her up on the jig and straighten out the chassis, pull and spray another body so she looks as good as new (and may even race again)? What do you guys think?

ATB Al.

PS. You wouldn't happen to know at which race the rears were changed?

I don't know for sure Al. I could guess toward the end as the rubber on them now looks pretty good. Maybe the track directors will speak up... provided they remember.
At this point I barely remember all the stuff that happened during my leg other than all the bent axles I found and replaced.

I haven't touched mine. Still on the shelf with the broken wire and no freaking time to even go to the track anymore. <_<

What do you guys think?

I reckon you should leave here as is. She'll only be like that once, and look at all the effort she went to get like that.
Build 'Blacklight II' if you want to race the same again. It might be almost as much effort as fixing the old girl up.
:)

I'm in the same boat with Dynogram. Into a display box, warts and all.
I reckon she looks great with all the dings, and signatures. Thanks to all who sharpied her for me.

EdoTron is home and in an amazing condition!

The body looks like new, really!

And the car still runs, actually it seems smoother than before (probably the break in period is finally over ^_^
