Well, here is an updated route image showing the progress. I have been making changes to this image all along and reposting it in post #1 on this thread. Though I doubt anyone has checked it since the race started. I also have kept the track info updated.
As of this moment the cars are here... or will be here in a few days.
(Actually they are spread all over the place currently.)
Anyway, the plan is to end the series back in Salem Oregon. A new hill climb track is opening up about 45 minutes from me and a lot of old racers in the Willamette Valley are quite excited. If that falls through (The don't get it done in time), the cars will be sent from N.J. to Buena Park for a run on the Flat Track. That decision will be made after N.J. Race in April.
So.... lets keep our eyes on Akron Ohio for a few weeks and let the trash talking begin.
Thank you Steve for the great race reporting and damage repairs.
Looks like some pretty great improvements for "edoTRON". I suspect it will become a much easier car to drive now.

My running notes, made when I first ran some exploratory laps with all the cars, have it driving well but popping wheelies with the central hinge set loosely whenever the power was applied. This meant that I couldn't 'drive' it out of corners, instead having to wait until it was lined up straight before giving it the beans. A fun car to drive (I love wheelies!) but not ideal for competitive racing.
If you locked the hinge by moving the front section of the chassis back into it, and maybe had a tiny bit more weight behind the guide, you'd probably make a few more laps per heat.
You speed crazed thing, you!
Here's a detailed breakdown of the racing during Round 7 at North London:

Anyway, while he was reviewing video and posting the links on Facebook, Steve determined that one tie between "EdoTRON" and "Blacklight" was not really a tie. He will have to explain exactly what happened, but the race results have been updated to reflect the change.
Congratulations to Edo for moving up to the podium.

With the Thingies off my hands I've been working on the video clips I took of the North London round. Editing one of them, I noticed that a lap counting error had been made on the day.
In one of the final heats Blacklight had a 'rider' trip across the lap counter on another lane. It's a purely mechanical system and has no electronic method of picking up rider laps, by the way. It was thought that Al's car had crossed on yellow lane where John Secchi was driving EdoTRON and Edo had a lap duly deducted at the end of the heat. The film definitely shows Blacklight crossing the line on red lane however where Matt was driving Orange Crate.
With such incontrovertible evidence fairness dictates that Barney has a lap deducted, which makes no difference to his overall 2nd place. Giving this lap back to The Kingie, on the other hand, is sufficient to raise his total above Mr Bond's 108.74.
Here's the ammended lap sheet:
You can judge for yourself the situation in the race Here.
The other videos show EdoTron, Blacklight, Streamliner Cuc and Rocket 88 battling it out. Gary's Rocket loses a lead wire and Streamliner Cuc's armature starts to let out the smoke. Here.
Budweiser, REM Bat Car, Manta Ray and Dynogram having at it. Here.
The end of John Havlicek's race. Here.
The good-natured grudge match between the Red Wedge and the Blue Wedge, with Rocket 88 and Dyna Rigg also on hand. Here.
Final two photos from the race, via Miss K's phone, show me wearing the very fetching helmet-cam and Mini-B #44, Oscar's car, The Needle and Aculeus lined up ready to start a heat.
Lowrider out.

The original orange stock motor threw a wind, and the hot pablo rewind backup motor is running ratty like it has a short in the arm Drive it until it dies.
No more threaded axles for me unless I get extra points for them They bend , bind up, and cook motors.
The rest of the car is in almost perfect shape, going slow has advantages

Brian the host for that round is racing retro at the R4 this weekend. I'm sure he'll respond when he has a chance where to send the cars.
Regardless, you still have some time to do what you need to do.
