before it goes home to the Great Lakes
Hey, I live by a Great Lake. Does that mean I should eventually be looking in my mailbox? My guess is probably not?

I thought I would explain my theories behind this design. That way, you can decide if I'm on track, or completely insane The inspiration for this design comes from a combination of my previous F1 painted by Noose, studying endbelldrive's floppy ISO, and a Eurosport chassis that PdL posted somewhere recently. The flag/motor/drivetrain was straight and rigid, and the body mount system was free to wiggle left and right as it wanted. There is a fair amount of side to side slop when you grab the flag and wiggle it back and forth. Some here have theorized that drop arm slop is bad. First of all, my experience is, a little drop arm slop makes no difference in handling. Second, this is actually not a "drop arm"......it is an ISO. Note how my design makes a straight run of the main rails from rear axle to flag. The motor/main rails/flag/weight are rigidly connected and there is no slop there. The slop is, the body rails/front wheels can slop back and forth a little in relation to the main assembly. In other words, the body and front wheels in this design, are merely riders and are allowed to wander a little. The main assembly is basically a tripod; 2 rear wheels and a flag. This design worked VERY well on the Noose F1 and it will work here also. Only difference is, this car had room for floppy outriggers, and a full blown ISO.
That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it.

A Stunning work of Art!!
I still ask the question:
What is the "history" (in a nutshell) of the one hole vs two hole Mura can??

It wasn't, only more heat as was proven eventually. And better magnets only beheld a better magnetic field.
It was an experiment, nothing more. But it makes the Mura one-hole can more rare than the two-hole.

I found some info on the history of Mura, but it does not really explain the "why" of a single hole:
