TOPCAD (#10260) Alloy Motor Cap SV Kyosho Mini-Z MR01

The guy I got mine from on eBay is selling this one. I think Noose bought from the same guy. Foamy was the one who found these.

Just like some of your guys made fancy heat sinks, we found these to work well on the Pro Slots, Falcons, etc.

I don't think they are needed unless the track is really bogged like it was this weekend. Basically I think it looks cool, doesn't hurt handling, and weighs nothing so to speak so why not run it? LOL . . . My theory is if it's gonna blow up, it's gonna blow up; a heatsink is not gonna make it not happen.

So far in six races the only motor that blew up was one of Ray's and it was in his Flexi so it was one of the cheaper ones. I coughed a motor spring on a motor and we had a couple finally run out of brushes. Pretty good so far.

I think the real test was the 500 format we ran at Dom's with the F1s where the power was hotter and we ran longer heats (over 5 minutes). None of the motors blew so the value of the heat sink is yet to be totally proven. I agree with Tony, they look cool.

Plus there is a little, "I got one and you don't" going on with it also. LOL . . .

One race I run it, one I don't. Have to keep people on their toes.

We do that too actually. Bryan Warmack has been making the ones we use here. They weigh 2 grams.

These are 1.27 grams. If your car is only 109 grams and you need to add weight for the 110 limit, this weight can help cooling.

PdL, the other anal retentive poster boy knows his weighs 2 grams. I never would have thought to weigh mine. It keeps the motor cooler, I run it. I pick it up it looks and feels light, I run it. You guys are wayyyyy over the edge.

You don't think i put those stickers on the bottom of my chassis for looks. I know how much each weighs and they are used to fine tune the handling . . . Lowers the center of gravity while putting the weight right where I want it.

LOL. That weighted lead-impregnated orange NASA moon tape is hard to find and very expensive. I have another roll on the way from McMaster-Carr.

The most challenging race for me thus far. Chasing John every heat and Tony closing the gap was intense! :!: All along trying not to deslot for any reason.

That's what racing is all about. ;)

Can't wait for the next one. :)

It was fun. For the first time I could actually race you guys instead of just trying to hang on... I concentrated on just staying on and avoiding wrecks. Its a lot easier when you can finally have some control over your car. I guess practicing does help. LOL... Still need to avoid that big one that puts you under the track.

We have a good time after the race. That's almost as much fun as the racing... I get to tell all my "I remember when I was fatter and faster" stories... We have a good crowd we race with.
