Greg,
Sorry, I couldn't leave that great straight line just sit there.

But seriously, of course Rick is a great racer.

So are Ron, Matt, Jay, Chris, Ed, Cap, Howie, Tom, etc., etc.

No one is winning big Retro races that isn't real, real good.

That said, coincidentally, the best finish at a major race by someone who wasn't very good at all, was with Z-Rail F1 car #001.

Coincidentally, his first name was (and still is) Greg and originally hails from Michigan.

Here you go, from Sano 4, ever hear of him?

A Main
laps - fast time
1. Ron Hershman - 284 laps - 4.824 secs
2. Jay Kisling - 283 - 4.800
3. Matt Bruce - 281 - 4.866
4. Terry Watson - 280 - 4.902
5. Mike Iles - 272 - 4.878
6. Greg Wagensomer - 270 - 4.915
7. Ralph Thorne - 269 - 4.886
8. Guillermo Suar - 259 - 4.942

TQ - Jay Kisling - 4.685 secs

I race directed and watched as he managed to not get passed, the whole heat, by the race winner,Ron, while they both were on the middle lanes.

He was an ex-Speedworld, GTP/ Wing racer, that had just gotten back into slots about 6 months earlier.

He is a great guitar player, but will be the first to admit, not a very good, non-downforce, slot car driver.

Before that Sano, he tried to put #001, both through my window, and wrap it around the conduit, hanging down
beyond the Deadman wall.

Cap,
K & S has aMetric line now.
I'm thinking the .040" Rick M has is their 1 MM x 6MM.

I'll post the sheet here, later on, when I get to the shop.

You'll have to whip out the calculator on your phone to decipher it,
but if you find something, I'll pick it up at K & S, when I take a trip to my Aunt's house.

1mm is about .040 thick, 6mm is .236. Or Cap you could just order my narrow F1 pans which are .050 thick and .235 wide with bend ups for pin tubes, tapered in the front and narrowwed in the rear for tires. DONE! Mucho easier...............

I already have cars built with brass strip pans so I'd like to match the body locations to those.

Go here:
http://slotblog.net/...10-sano-v-pics/

IIRC, Sano Dave Fiedler ran one in Can-Am Flat track, Ray Price ran one in both Can-Am Flat & King,
and I ran one in Can-Am King.

To go along with Rick Davis's win at the ROC in July with a Z-rail F1 , I just noticed along with TQ, 4 out of the top 7 ran Z-rail F1's
at the Retro Summit this past Saturday. ( including the B and C Main winners )

I only mentioned it because it's the only El Pollo Loco that appears to have survived in the Chicago area.

And my wife had gotten addicted to the flan at the 2005 Buena Park Nat's and our 2008 honeymoon out that way. LOL
